I think those of us not interested are allowed to vent given we’ve seen events cancelled and media coverage overflowing with content. It’s not reflective of the national mood in my opinion. Most people genuinely say “Blimey, the Queen is dead” and then carry on with their day. It’s big news but to take away people’s alternative options for entertainment is almost a type of forced grieving.

Honestly the moaning about the TV coverage is beyond embarrassing Sandy. It’s been less than three days since the Queen died and some of the moaning is beyond ridiculous. Moaning about the bbc license fee ffs. There’s loads of nonsense that the bbc air that I don’t want to watch but I know that other people do, so rather than whine like a little child I just get on with it.

This is an event that hasn’t happened in 70 years. Some of the overreactions are an embarrassment

That is a brilliant point

I agree with the second poster it's ridiculous the football across the board has been postponed and again shows contempt for ordinary people that we have our calendars disrupted because a person from a rich family has died.

I have respect for her as a person for her sense of duty and undertaking that role at her young age but that is it! I don't know her or anyone who knew her.

I was more upset when Terry wogan died and felt a greater sense of a national treasure passing away than when the Queen died.

Sandy because of his age probably has been conditioned more to accept this 'rich family' as royalty not his fault.

You could discuss where she performed particularly well, areas you were disappointed with, hopes for the new regime, potential transfers...

I was more upset when Terry wogan died and felt a greater sense of a national treasure passing away than when the Queen died.

The authorities for once did absolutely the right thing and shut down football for ONE weekend.

Horse Racing, Rugby and Cricket did not stop their activities. They did better than that. They added a pre-event ceremony celebrating the Queen's life.
