I don’t think he’s been frustrating like Nani, though. Nani, for all his faults, wasn’t a player that tended to play safe. Thus far Antony has been.

In today's times he would cost about the same as Antony.

He was that good that he ended the season on the bench.
He ended the CL final on the bench. And many at the time thought that was the wrong decision.
But that’s not really relevant when you consider that we had better players in attack then than now. Most of our current attackers wouldn’t be starting for that United team.

He was benched for the title run. Like Berbatov that first half of that season was as good as it got at United for him. Nani started 11/12 on form but tailed after that and never really returned.

Well ok then…. I’ve been to plenty. Former season ticket holder.
Antony will struggle. Arsenal's Pepe had much more skill on the ball and was more rapid but he even couldn't make it in the league. Elanga offers more.

I don’t think we’ve done a very good job of getting Antony 1v1 often enough, though he does seem to be playing it a bit safe at the moment.
That said, he put a nice ball over the top of Ronaldo this evening which led to a penalty shout, played a lovely pass for Sancho which resulted in a goal-line clearance and if it was for a naff pass from Ronaldo, probably would have had a tap in during the second half.
So it’s fine margins & early days. His general link up play has been neat and tidy though.
