Very good performance, looking at the fixture before it started it looked like it was going to be a tough one. But in the end it was easy, not because Brentford played badly we just totally nullified them. Some similarities to the United game in that we totally dominated the ball but just lacked the killer instinct in the final third, today though was different hopefully it continues.

Interesting that. There were some slight tactical changes from Man Utd. Xhaka was more circumspect going forward. I think he went too high too early after we went behind. And thats where Utd scored their second so soon after we equalised.

We had far more possession because of Partey and Xhaka slightly closer to him. Thats why we controlled the game more and took the crowd out of it.

Vieira is also more aggressive than Odegaard.

But Brentford were awful apart from a couple of moves early in the match

I was very disappointed in them today, they couldn’t control the ball, string any passes together , nothing

I don’t buy into your comment that they didn’t play badly at all

Can only beat what’s in front of you though so fairplay

even the brentford manager said his players played well, just couldn't get near us

Of course he would say that , trying to keep morale up after a beating at home….I’ve seen Brentford play miles better than that this season

Let’s put it this way partey was a passenger all match as a centre midfielder, he didn’t do a thing yet arsenal still completely controlled the game cos Brentford were terrible

Definitely in some part to how well arsenal played but the fact Brentford were bad also helped

You got them on an off day that’s for sure

I’m a bit worried about the nld as we set up to let teams have the ball and you have shown if you are allowed the ball you can be very good

If you listen to their manager he was happy with their performance they just came up against a very good team. That's their biggest loss at home since 2014 so it's a decent scalp for us.

Missed the above comment but the point still stands. We've had two away London derbies in which history says are difficult games and we've won them convincingly so it bodes well.

I appreciate you guys will want to big up your performance as much as possible as I would if it was Tottenham but Brentford were shat

Still I’m concerned about the derby as we will let you have the ball which worries me

Indeed our away form to teams we should be beating is the primary reason we fell out of the Champions League positions under Wenger. We should be back to the top 4 if we rectify that and local derbies are the most difficult games overcome.
