He hasn’t played well when given the opportunity so far.

We really could have used the Palace and Leeds games before this, not least to give Casemiro some more minutes. Can’t help but feel that long break will hurt us more than it will City, given that bit of momentum we had in the league.

Great being nervous before these games again. Last season it was just dread.

Agreed. Although hopefully some things have been worked on in training to help.

No holding midfielder for city today? Now Laporte and Dias not starting - so there should be some space behind the city line that could be exploited?

Match fitness is one thing; PL fitness probably another for a player new to the league. Put it this way - I think it’s the right decision not to start him in this game.
