New Manager

Honestly know very little about most of them.

Several i would be quite happy with though.

Lopetegui
AVB
Amorim
Martins

Vilas Boas wouldn’t be my choice but Lopetegui has had a good managerial career while Martins has done well in Greece which isn’t the strongest league in the world.

Amorim is quite inexperienced and less on his cv than the others. But his short record is outstanding, winning over 70% of his games at Braga and Sporting. He would be a gamble but could be an outstanding manager in the making

Is it Amorim that has the big release clause?

Lopetegui would be my number one.

I actually don't think Pochetino is impossible. Didn't enhance his reputation at PSG in my opinion so maybe a return to the prem would suit him.

Been reading in the Athletic that Lage had lost the dressing room at the end of last season during that poor run of results. He became emotional and temperamental and fell out with several players.

Seems to be confirmation of what many, including John Ruddy have said that hes a good coach on the training field but his man management skills are lacking.

It must be an interesting dynamic trying to manage and motivate a bunch of highly talented multi millionaire athletes. I watched the Arsenal all or nothing documentary last week and have to say to me Arteta came across as a bit of a ridiculous David Brent type character in terms of his management style, but he seems to be getting it right.

Inevitable he’d go after the run we’ve been on and the way we have been playing but how much of the underlying problem – our frankly laughable transfer business and the incredibly unbalanced squad it has left us with – is down to him really isn’t clear. Hopefully we’ll see an new manager bounce but that won’t address the structural issues within the club.

Would be interesting to see how Dyche perform with a squad like ours, not sure it would be the right fit somehow. I'd rather he went somewhere else to try and prove himself rather us be the experiment.

Solsjkaer is an interesting one too, I think when you look at how others have performed at United before and after him he didnt do such a bad job there really, he could be a good fit.

If the likes of Tuchel or Pocchetino are beyond our reach I have to conclude that its likely to be Martins, Amorim or AVB. Lopetegui may well also be aiming higher than us I suspect notwithstanding the fact that he currently is still in a job at one of Spain's most successful clubs in recent years.

The Wolves squad is more suited to a Portuguese or Spanish manager. Dyche would be a disaster for this group of players.

That may be true but begs the question "would we be better off with a squad that might suit a manager such as Dyche?"

Only asking.

Not Dyche for me. No question he did well at Burnley, but I think that’s his level, getting the best out of mostly average players, and getting results through hard work rather than good football. This Wolves appointment needs to be one that not just gets us out of our current hole but can then take us back to the level of challenging for europe. Of course Dyche did once take Burnley to Europe so I could be talking out of my backside, but I think we can attract better

Was only making the contrary point of view Spangles. I actually agree with you.

Dyche would be a disaster with what we are trying to build.

Solskjaer would be an awful appointment as well.

Don’t like the idea of AVB, Solskaer or Dyche
Lopetegui or Martins would be good appointments
But Amorim looks the most exciting name linked so far to me

Be amazed if we pay the release clause for Amorim and would be surprised if he were keen given Sporting are on a high.

Leicester don't win tonight we could see Rodgers available.

pedro sepulveda(top man in portugal i think) was on sky sports news a bit ago and had this info apparently.

- Amorim has no chance of happening.
- Fully expect us to go with a Jorge Mendes option but expressed concern that there's not that many good options out there.
- Says AVB not on shortlist as it stands and hints that he's not a Mendes favourite
- Carlos Carvalhal could be on the list but there are others ahead of him. Meanwhile, Hull are desperate to appoint him so if that doesn't happen then could be one to watch for us. Should stress, he would be very surprised if this happens, so would say he's a Plan C/D etc.
- Confirmed Pedro Martins would tick the box in terms of close relationship with Mendes and didn't say any obstacles to him coming.

From what he said I'd believe he thinks it will be Pedro Martins without saying it outright.

He did say that Wolves could look outside of Mendes for a manager but he basically indicated as a journalist he has to work on the basis they will go with Mendes given his connection/history with the club, which is understandable.

Rogers is a great shout. Would be very happy to see him come in.
Really think we should avoid another Portuguese manager

Rodgers looks safe for now after giving Forest a 4-0 stuffing. Leicester still below us but scored more goals in a game than we've scored all season.

Thought Gibbs White looked Forest's biggest threat but that said didn't quite have the quality of the Leicester forwards who clicked tonight.

Lost power for 48 hours and literally, just got the cable/internet back up and running.

A lot of flooding in our area like nothing I've seen before. Thankfully we had no damage, but in and around our area was chaos, with homes flooded and a lot had structural damage.

Oh to live in the Sunshine State.

Good to hear you are safe Wolfie

Some crazy rains and floods. Fort Myers looks like it will be out of action for quite some time which will be a huge blow givens it is a major winter snow bird town.

Missus best friend dodged a bullet with the storm coming to shore earlier than initially expected so instead of pushing a major surge into the bay it actually pushed water out.
