People seem to have forgotten that yet again VAR helped City yesterday with their last 2 goals. The Foden one was a scandal, he was half a yard off but at The Etihad it's allowed to be given. Also the Haaland tap-in in the second half was another goal VAR gave them.
If that game was at 4-3 with a few mins left we'd have got something I think. Ronaldo would've come on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4-3
If they'd wanted to City could have probably banged 8 past you yesterday. Just be grateful they went into carnival mode at 6.
We haven't broke Sancho at all. He's just bang average I'm afraid. The bundesliga is just a very poor league.
Havertz, Werner and Sancho have just found the step up difficult.
City didn’t try to stop him from leaving because of his general attitude
Seems like he’s transferred it to United
Who is to say he would have made it all the way under Pep? Some huge assumptions here
Pep would have made him a better player for sure. But he is so slow. Not sure you can coach pace.

There aren't many wingers who will regularly roast defences without the right movement around them, overlapping / underlapping full backs, etc. The better United get at collective attacking movements, the more effective Sancho will be. This partly comes down to the coaching. Partly to the personnel. When Martial is absent we don't have a CF who is adept at making the right movements, or taking the ball back to goal and playing off the wide forwards. We still don't have the perfect balance of ball progression and protection in midfield, and we have a goalkeeper who can't reliably sweep or pass into narrow spaces, which means we aren't dominating possession and playing high up the pitch. The less time we spend in possession high up the pitch, and the more we rely on counter-attacking, the less valuable Sancho will be to us. His best attributes are creative vision and ability to use feints and quick feet to change direction.
As for 'can't beat a man', I remember many examples of him beating players one-on-one. But let's not rely on anecdotal evidence. According to the stats (link below), he is in the 80th percentile for 'dribbles completed' and 89th for 'progressive carries'.

I also don’t get the “he has no pace” comments. Yes he does not have Rashford pace but he isn’t a slouch by any definition.
We really do have a lot of fans that come out with consistently wrong rhetoric.

Rashford doesn't have any pace left in him.

This British obsession with pace is so bizarre.
I didn't read the 30 comments. But surely that's on sancho not united. Pep would of got rid of him i rec.
We're weeks into a new managers reign at the club. Jadon is very much a confidence player and a player who will suit the style EtH wants to bring to the club.
Our midfield/attack as a whole was awful yesterday and gave the defence absolutely no chance as it was wave after wave of attack due to nobody being able to either keep hold of the ball or pass it once receiving it from the back line.
Definitely fair to say he was woeful yesterday, but he has started to improve this season and has every chance to prove the doubters wrong.

This Utd break players myth is nonsense. These player just get too much money and lose hunger it seems.
Sancho hasn't really ever done it for England either so how is that on United? For that matter neither has Foden either tbf.

Foden is actually very quick.
Big fan of Jadon.
He's got a top skill set and insane balance. Rapid over 10 yards too but he is a system player and the games where he plays well Utd get his team mates near to him and games where he plays pretty anonymously such as yesterday there is rarely anyone within 20 yards of him.
If you look at how Haaland and Foden linked up yesterday, particularly for Foden's hattrick, then that is what he needs.
I think some people need to realise we are 7 games into the ETH era and yesterday was up against a Pep team 7 years in who are one of the best sides in English football history.
For what it's worth I think Sancho will look better with Martial who tends to link up better with our wide players. Rashford really isn't that type of player and neither is Ronaldo.
He really is timid
Another waste of the ole splurge
Not expecting him to be world class immediately but afraid to beat a defender, more often collecting the ball, pause, pass it backwards. Even i could do that
Foden isn't quicker than Sancho but he is made too look better in the Pep tactical template. Foden for England looks an average player. If Sancho played for City and Foden for Utd we would have talked differently about their performances.

He does seem incredibly reluctant to dribble past people and yet when you watch his highlights for Dortmund he was doing it for fun.
I don't think he's got the fire in his belly. Seems like the type who is very happy with his huge pay cheque and not really fussed about trophies and winning. I could be wrong but that's the impression I get.

Compared to Sancho there is not a lot of difference between them in pace. Foden is a superior footballer of course.
He’s probably happy enough that he earns twice as much as Foden, no need to progress when you can put that on your SM CV
The Ed Woodward legacy sadly. Paying over the odds for transfer fees and salaries.

You could see from the off yesterday that the referee wanted to hand the game to City. Grealish dives over near Dalot... yellow card 1 min into the game. Malacia makes a tackle. Yellow.
We went to the Etihad and scored 3 times. Don't forget that. Most teams don't even have a shot on target... plenty to be positive about, just need a fairer referee next time.

and 11 better players. City declared at half time and took many of the key players off so they could rest for the tougher test v Copenhagen.

Didn't City do this with Haaland?
There's been question marks over his attitude for a few years. Can remember whether Dortmund fined him but he definitely got in some bother with them a couple of times.
