On confidence levels alone, most likely.
First season back was mostly the championship winning team, Raphinha being the only regular starter the most part of the season. Rodrigo was on the bench half the time, Koch started quite a few and Llorente later on. If I remember rightly
Mostly players who were average championship players leading up to Bielsaball.
What this is we have now? No idea. Squad is full of players we'll struggle to shift

This summer we pretty much spent the money we knew we were getting for our 2 best players on 6 or 7 players to strengthen the overall squad.
And time moves on… Those championship players who did so well for us are getting long in the tooth and largely a bunch of crocks now that have needed replacing

Obvs squad-wise (as per subject of OP) - clearly we’re sitting better league-position wise … but for how long?
It's the value for money aspect for me and based on that only Rapha cut the mustard post promotion.
Of what I've seen so far of the newbies only Tyler Adams looks consistent. Aaronson is only showing patches, jury out on Roca.
Will we ever get a back line that can counter set pieces consistently?
40 mill of that spend in is out on loan!

Genuinely don’t have a clue.
Probably my epitaph
....Kalvin was/is my favourite player but he was out most of last season and would have been out most of the season so far, so £46 Million wasn't bad but you are correct that KP and Rapha are talents you can't easily replace until you have a city style budget.
Rapha's last day performance still haunts me as it is so glaring the hole he has left - same for a Kalvin long pass and plugging the defensive midfield.
If Sinisterra does half of what Rapha does it wil be great.

They absolutely do! Only they call it profit / loss and if you don't make a profit sooner of later you go out of business. Or in football, FFP will seek to restrain that - or not

What we lost is the best manager we've had in decades and replaced him with one so in over his head it's not funny
