The sacking of the recruitment team then, what's all that about? Does that mean Marinakis thinks that the new players are a waste of his money and that he has already decided they aren't good enough? Was Cooper not consulted about the signings?
Yeah, EM probably does. A step to far for the recruitment team maybe? We’ve still got Dane and the new sporting director. He did great work at Watford.
I think it’s rather progressive tbh.
Re Cooper. On some, probably. He’s said in many interviews that he leaves all that stuff to everyone else. I think I replied to that question to Kentucky was it?
There is a Kentucky Ram so probably. It seems a bit odd if the manager is saying he isn't involved in choosing the players that are brought in, and also odd that after just a few games the owner has seen enough to sack people for signing them. What are the players likely to think, if the owner thinks they are so useless that he has got rid of the people responsible for bringing them in? I suppose they are thinking they are on decent contracts so hey ho. Jesse Lingard didn't look too happy the other night sitting all wrapped up on the bench, but no doubt he will find some consolation when he looks at his latest bank statement.
Or, someone better became available. The Watford guy.
For all we know, Dane and EMs son did the signings, and the guys they let go were responsible for players we didn’t get. That’s plausible.
Re Lingard? He’s a free agent and represents 1/30th of our expenditure. I’m not losing any sleep if his best years are behind him. Every team signs the occasional dud. Signing 23 players means we’ve likely signed a few more than that.
Well, you are certainly giving the benefit of doubt and putting the best possible interpretation on it, which is to your credit. Concern is certainly growing amongst many fans though.

You need to take a good look at your self in a mirror vidal!
You all blindly supported your last failed owner, even after it was becoming obvious to everyone else what a double dealing chancer he really was. Your in League one and that is entirely down to his mismanagement.
Forest on the other hand are in the Premier League and while struggling to find the best starting 11 at the moment.
The link is pretty low level journalism and is on a level with the post.
A significant number of new players are injured, the scorer from Monday night is carrying a shoulder injury, Richards didn't even start the season. So there are legitimate questions to be asked over recruitment.
I'm surprised that you aren't more concerned over losing to Port Vale and err who did your U18's lose to?
According to various articles printed in the Athletic, a reliable source of quality football journalism [ so probably not for sheep fans] a lot of the recruited players wanted to come and play for Cooper because he has a reputation with developing young players and is considered as a potential future England manager.
Now take a moment to consider how that compares to the shambles at the other end of the A5-2!
Unusually, RFB, you have made a valid point, and one that reinforces my own. Fans often wilfully blind themselves to what is going on. As you suggest, what is obvious to fans of other clubs isn't always obvious to the fans of the club in question.
But I am pleased you are a fan of The Athletic, "a reliable source of quality journalism". Daniel Taylor is a senior writer for The Athletic and has been Football Journalist of the Year four times. He has Tweeted on this subject yesterday evening. Here you are then:

You're welcome.
Vidal - Do you think there is any chance that you are showing a bit of selective blindness here…
Morninchile - I think you should ask yourself that question Vidal.
Interesting fact - Number of Derby posts on their own match thread - 5. Number of posts by a Derby fan on the Forest thread - 4.
I guess playing Accrington isn’t that exciting after all.
A bit of an attempt at deflection there, Morninchile. I would have thought you might welcome a bit of discussion.
I may be biased rather than blind, but are you also saying the same is true of the "reliable source of quality journalism"?
And have no fear about the number of posts. I feel certain that the Accrington Stanley vs Derby County Match Thread will somewhat outstrip your own in this regard.
When our match thread starts, of course, which it hasn't yet. Perhaps another case of wilful blindness on your part?

I must admit, I spent all last night worrying if the match thread would have more comments this week.
What I didn’t worry about was playing in the EPL, a new stand, Brazil’s domestic player of the year joining, waiting for the players to gel, attendances falling and parachute payments (if we get relegated).
I think I’ve done a fairly decent job of debating your points Vidal. I’m guessing it’s hard to comprehend a team on the up and the associated positivity…as opposed to a team languishing in League One and the associated negativity.
Well, you were the one who first made mention of the number of comments, Morninchile, so I guess it must have some importance for you.
We will have to see how it all turns out. I suspect that beneath the bravado there is more than just a tinge of anxiety on your part, but of course I don't know for certain and I doubt you would admit it anyway. Certainly you don't need to look very far on other sites to find Forest fans who are less inclined to believe that all is as rosy as you would have us believe.
I don't know if we are "languishing" as such. I think you have to be in a place for a while before you can be said to languish. As for negativity, most of us are very happy indeed that we still have a club to support. I'm sure you will want to mock me when I say I am very much looking forward to going to Accrington Stanley on Saturday, but it's the truth.
I guess looking on the bright side is one thing we have in common at least.
Oh Vidal 🤣
If only we were as intelligent as you think you are! Maybe it would be you spending 150M of your own money on your football team! And having opposition fans questioning your decisions 🤷♂️
perhaps if Mad Mel had sacked a few of the hangers on earlier you wouldn’t have wasted so much money and be such an uninspiring mid-table league 1 team right now! How much did Butterfield cost again?
As it is, here you are posting on a premier league football teams message board. Telling us how happy you are in league 1 (weird how these conversations keep happening here on Forests boards and not on the Derby side)
Do keeping coming up with this nonsense thou, much like watching a dog chase it’s own tail, it does make me chuckle 🤣

Vidal has a lot of skills Bunk. Including the world record for the clutching of straws.
I was very happy going to awful League One grounds...Doncaster's flooded away section and a view in line with the pitch...Scunthorpe's corragated hut, Rotherham, Bradford etc...but, I am infinitely happier that we are a Premier League side, as I am sure you would be Vidal.
I don't really do bravado tbh, in my industry there is a lot of ego and I steer clear of it as much as possible.
Anxiety, yes sometimes, but certainly not in regard to Forest. I've been there and done that. The world will keep on spinning long after I've gone. Unless of course I am the creator, and if I am, I have a very warped sense of humour!
I never said it was rosy, I just stated that we don't know what is going on and why. I then suggested an alternate reality to the one you are fixated on.
Cheers for the kind comments, lads. I sense a tiny bit of hostility, even though I’m perfectly pleasant as always. I don’t wander over here very often onto your “premier league football teams message boards”. You make me feel like a tramp who has wandered into a garden party at Buckingham Palace. I guess I should be grateful you have indulged me for even this long. I was just interested in your take on the sackings and the rumours of discontent, not rumours I have made up btw, but by RFB’s source of quality journalism. But if you don’t want to chat about that, fair enough. At least I have made Bunky chuckle, so time not completely wasted. Till the next time.
Wolves look as tho they have a lot of Jorge mendes ‘talent’ in their line up.
