Process, I actually don't mind debating with you but are you serious here?? Do you know how pre season works? Do you know the impact of a normal fit 20 year old missing pre season not to speak of 38?
It is just not an excuse because you can't tell me our top scorer has just in couple of months lost it 'all.' It is utter madness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do but he’s played more than enough matches now to be up to speed.
Varane and Martinez barely had a pre-season and for me Varane has been our best player this season so far with Martinez not far behind.
He had a very similar poor spell last season between December and March and in his defence found form again but for those 3 months he was terrible.
Many far younger players than Ronaldo have seemingly lost it almost overnight.

The only arguments I’ve heard for him to play are ‘he’s not Rashford’ or ‘he scored last season’
Well it is very hard to find many arguments bearing in mind we have played only 9 games. The legitimate excuse that he has not been fit is a legitimate one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's played 12 times for United and 2 times for Portugal this season. 8 of those have been starts. It may have been a legitimate excuse at the start of the season but not now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is 37 and missed pre season. You can try to attack the guy, however be objective here mate.
He may end up stinking up the whole joint come the end of the season. But I am well within my rights to believe Ronaldo can turn it around and prove the doubters wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d love if he turned it around and proved me massively wrong but there’s very little sign of thar happening right now.
He’s so off the pace now, even that burst of pace is now gone. He can still move quickly in full flight but he’s slow off the mark now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s still a little early to write his season off entirely for me. I think once we’re in January and he’s only scored 3 goals or something then ok he’s gone.
Like scholay said, he didn’t have a pre-season and he’s been on the bench a lot.
If there is one player that you cannot write off, it is Cristiano Ronaldo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The match fitness excuse is nothing more than an excuse at this stage. He’s actually 9th on our most minutes played list this season and that’s leaving out 2 90 mins for his country.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And do you not think he’s been better in recent games vs the first few games?

Marginally if at all. He was poor yesterday and rightly withdrawn. Sancho and Antony certainly didn't pull up any trees but he was our weakest attacker.

Yeah if he didn’t improve then I don’t see why we should pay him £500k a week. But I’m confident that he will, only because of what he is really. He’s an unbelievably hard worker and he will be the least happy of all of us with his returns so far; of that I think we can all be in agreement.

You are no successful athlete let alone arguably the most successful footballer to ever live.
What Sat Nav is saying here requires no argument. There are youtube videos of 50 year old Jordan saying he will kick guys backsides at 50 on 1 vs 1. This is the mindset of people who are the best to ever do it. You are not qualified one iota to make any comment on what he should know or admit because quite frankly your best is being here and arguing non-stop.
The arrogance of this fella is crazy.

I get it, you are a non sportsman and have no experience to fall back on. Nothing wrong with that. I excuse your ignorance.

I think Scholay has led a life where he has been oppressed by women. It will explain his angry child behavior.
Late to the party, but yeh, Ronaldo looks done at that top level. Martial probably isn't the answer long term due to his injury problems and Greenwood is going to be such a wasted talent. Pretty depressing all round really.
Fingers crossed we have got our eye on someone that can come in and be the striker that we can rely on. I don't know enough about Gakpo to know whether he is a suitable option. Sesko seems to keep getting mentioned, but a few have voiced their opinion that he doesn't have the quality. Toney looks like a good option to me.
To be fair to Ronaldo, he is probably thinking it's just a bad spell or poor form and that the goals will soon start rolling in again.. Not thinking "I'm past it, but will keep playing for my own personal reasons".

Yeh I am sure he is. He will keep on trying and doing his best.
I'd be absolutely delighted if Ronaldo proves me wrong during the course of the season. Perhaps, just perhaps, he's been working on being in peak condition for the World Cup (which will probably be his last - although I wouldn't completely write him off 2026 either!). Maybe it's after the World Cup we'll see the best current version of him.
As for new strikers I quite like the idea of Toney. I'm wondering if it would be worth submitting an early low bit in the window just to see if that unsettles him a bit. Underhand? Maybe. However, it may nudge him to try to force an issue.

He just came 20th in the Ballon D’or. That’s on reputation alone. I’m sorry but I’d be shocked if his biggest defenders even say he’s been the 20th best player in the world in 2022.

People like him don’t come out and say “I’m old I’m not as good as I used to be”

No self respecting player does. What happens is the manager benches them and leave to where they can find first team football. Any other player, that will be his immediate future.

And that’s what will happen next season.

But they should know it, and quite clearly know it.

It’s a very, very hard thing to do. I think more so for men and even more so with hyper successful people or sportsmen like Ronaldo. I think deep down he knows but he’s perhaps a bit in denial.

maybe in Manchester. Speaking of Manchester clubs I’m not sure how Mahrez came 12th.

Rapelays upset today. Wonder if it's because his blow up doll popped and his mommy didn't cook his toast right?

Nothing arrogant about it. You don’t have to be a top athlete to recognize when your athletic prowess is in decline.
