Another VAR ref would have interrupted it differently which is the problem.

Interrupted

But how much of this sequence of play can be interpreted differently by anyone? There's the goal kick instead of corner, foul on Fab and ball kicked out of Allison's hands.

I know interpretation matters but not always. Would you say the ref allowing the two blatant fouls on Salah is a matter of interpretation? That's too far.

I think its more of a case of they could have hid under the "is it clear and obvious" BS

Who cares about a corner or a goal kick.
...
even when the goalkick ultimately led to the build up for a goal (albeit was disallowed for another reason). youve gone from wrongly taking an attacking set piece away from one team and giving a goal scoring event to the other team. of course people should care ffs

Nah come on do we really want VAR to check corners , throw ins and every foul.. because thats we are going to go with it. Can't blame not getting a corner at one end of the pitch for conceding a goal on the other. Be careful what you wish for.

Of course you can blame not getting a corner on conceding a goal

It might not be immediately responsible but if the corner is given that entire sequence of play doesn't happen. People have been moaning about those decisions ever since TV replays became a thing.

I don't know why anyone would be opposed to checking the likes of corners and goal kicks when it can be done in literally 5 seconds 99% of the time.

VAR is a great thing, it’s the idiots running it that are the problem. The VAR refs do all they can not to imply that the on field hasn’t got it wrong when that’s what they’re actually there to do!

They missed Bernardo Silva kicking out at Salah once the ball had gone!

glad somebody gets it lol

i couldnt care less who wins out of liverpool and city but i want to see correct decisions given as much as possible. when the tv footage is there for everyone to see within 2 replays wheres the hardship in the var ref letting the match ref know

multi billion pound industry and people are happy for continuous mistakes to be made. wouldnt happen in any other sector
