I think the problem is that your players also didn't expect anything at Old Trafford. How can you, as a fan, accept that when you spend the rest of the season talking about how you're better than us?

Hi Sandy, you might get 5 wins from the games you list, but we (Leeds) will get 3 points at the Lane!!

Best of luck with that mate. I wanted to go to that match, but forgot about the ticket sale date, and when I went on the ticket site, they were all gone.

One result does not define whether a team is better. The table does not lie, Spurs were above United last season, and are above them now. I prefer to go by how a league table looks, than individual on the day or on the night results. United beat Spurs home and away last season, but finished miles behind them come May. So clearly Spurs are still better than United.

Until we start getting results in those away games Sandy, we are just stuck in stasis as a club.

Unless 4th place is the aim for every season? In which case, what’s the point? We clearly don’t build a squad to try and win the CL.

All the so called big clubs are much the same mate. I think even City very rarely win the big away games, but they tend to walk the league.

Spurs find it hard to compete with the financially doped clubs, Spurs are not alone in that. Man City cannot even win the CL, so not sure why Spurs not winning it is such a big deal, especially as City have such a massive financial advantage.

Yes, would be nice to win a trophy, but it is getting more and more difficult. You need incredibly lucky draws in the cup competitions to even reach finals most of the time.

Spurs along with Arsenal, United, Chelsea, Liverpool are all realistically only playing for top four most seasons. It is what it is. It is not a level playing field football in the 21st century.

If I were a Spurs fan, the only way I'd be happy with Spurs results/season so far is if I worked weekends and hadn't actually had to watch any of the games.

It's like when we had Jose in charge, I'd be driving home from a game we'd won 1-0 or 2-1 but still felt nothing, no feeling of enjoyment or anything, just 'meh' the same as if we'd drawn or lost by a goal.

i think its the manner of those defeats that upset fans sandy, last night was a terrible performance as most of our away defeats are. losing a game that we have played well in is still an enjoyable experience, but watching the dross dished up last night is entitled to be critisized, players not being able to string 2 passes together, constantly giving the ball away is far from enjoyable whatever the final result

I have enjoyed every game I have been to at WHL this season. Football is also a results business. Spurs have won every match I have attended. I would sooner that than coming home with a loss, you don`t get anything for that, even if you played champagne football. Seen too much of that over my 60+ years of watching football. I don`t frankly care how Spurs win, as long as they do.

Each to their own though I suppose.

You might enjoy knowing you've picked up the 3 points after the game, but anyone that says they 'enjoy' the 90 minutes watching a Jose or a Conte side with 5 defenders and 3 workhorses in midfield with no game plan other than hope someone makes a tackle and can get it to Son/Kane quickly is a liar imo.

garry, but this is not nothing new, poor away performances in big away games. So that is why I don`t let results like last night worry me.

Has anyone forgotten the absolutely no show of the CL final, that was just a typical big game where Spurs didn`t turn up.

We all know exactly the same will happen when Spurs visit Anfield, so I just don`t let it worry me at all.

I am already looking forward to what I expect to be two home victories this coming week. Spurs are just about the most predictable team in world football. You more or less predict their wins and losses down to a tee.

Nah, football can be played in more than one way. I bet when United were losing at the backend of last season, you would have killed your granny just to get a win, however it came.

I like to see good football, but it aint happening in every single match. In fact, it happens in very few matches. How many good games have United played this season? And you have neither Conte or Jose.

Result not the issue for me, expected a loss. But the performance was embarrassing. United had 30 facking shots. Dominated from start to finish and we offered absolutely nothing.

I'm still a fan of Conte, but am struggling to understand why we've regressed performance wise this season after a pre season and £100m+ spent.

However, we now only have 2 big guns away left this season and look very strong at home. I expect a big reaction v Newcastle.

There’s only a handful that want Conte out. No manager is doing better with this lot than Conte is right now.

Agree with OP. It's not a big deal. Man Up and move on. If we lost to Chelsea and drew with Man U....fans would still be moaning.

Surely Spence needs to get a chance....we need rapid players on our flanks to isolate opposition fullbacks

If we're being realistic about how good we're supposed to be, then this team should not be beaten for a long while, even with games against Liverpool and City at home these should be draws at the least. A good winning run or unbeaten run is expected and if it's not achieved then we are underachieving.

MIke's right, both these clubs have supporters that want to be entertained, winning and crap football only works for the McFans.

Sandy, its not the loss but the manner in which you lost.

I respect Conte for what he's achieved in his career (Granted he's only succeeded at "Big", Richest clubs in each country he's managed) and for what he did at Spurs last season. With that said, I hate his brand of football and hate watching this current team. I'm not saying I want him out, I just wouldn't be in the least bit bothered if he left.

Simply truth is that we are not playing to our strengths (30% possession when all your best players are attackers isn't gonna work against the type of teams we are trying to emulate (see last night), its great against Leicester, Everton & Brighton. What's the point of having a defensive/ pragmatic approach when you are giving up possession and allowing 20 odd attempts and then do nothing about until the 80th minute.

As soon as it becomes clear to the likes of Kane and Son that they aint winning a thing at Spurs, because attacking football wins things, they'll be off. Why would you wanna play in a team that sets up to defend above all else and leaves you feeding off scraps in the big games.

Conte is frightened football manager..... Thats not for me. Nothing will change... We'll be top 6, not 4 because we are not brave enough to go after the better sides and overtake them.

Watching Spurs is dreadful, I take ZERO satisfaction from the fact we are 3rd. Having watched Spurs for 38 years I have zero expectation about them winning, I love Spurs because I was brought up on attacking football & flair players.

Despite the start to this season, I still there's something fundamentally & culturally wrong at the club and that Conte is an ill-fitting, short term manager

We'll see
