They will be elements within the Tory party and voters all over the country that will hate the fact an ethnic minority is PM.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There will be elements of all parties that don't like it. Perhaps this is why Labour haven't promoted minorities or females to prominent positions as much as Conservatives have because they think their voter base won't like it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Isn't one of the most powerful positions in the country held by an Asian in London? The London Mayor.

We will see how many Johnson supporters switch to Mordant, to try to get her in the back door. True blue Conservative members will all vote for her, because they loathe Asians.

Tory Party is as racist as it comes, otherwise Rishi would have beaten Truss.

Congratulations to the Tory party for having three woman PMs and an ethnic minority PM, all done without obsessively banging on about race and s ex unlike Labour.

Don't bang on about it?

You don't shut up about it.

The OP seeing Sunak's colour as if that is a persons most important attribute speaks to his prejudice.

All I see is a person with incredible wealth and privilege who married into a family of even greater wealth and privilege, who will claim he can understand the 98% of the population who aren't like that.

"The Tories are best because they don't care about the gender or race of their leader, as long as they hate the poor and keep the money flowing to billionaires and corporations".

I'd advise you to stop thinking about what people are, and focus instead on what they do. Will Sunak reverse the decision to remove the cap on bankers bonuses? Or will he cut public services aimed at poor people?

Once you see what he does, the colour of his skin isn't relevant. Nor is his gender, his sexuality or his religion. If his policies make things worse for ordinary people, and increase wealth inequality, then he's a Tory. And at the end of the day, that's all the Tories care about in their leader.

That you won't let those of us who are ethnic minorities note this historic and unprecedented development in British politics which would have been unthinkable 20 years ago speaks volumes for yours.

I think a lot of people dont want to see an ethnic minority PM and this will be the last straw that drives mainstream party voters towards the far right
----------------------------------------------------------------------

16% of voters to be precise. So no.

Boris Johnson had the most ethnically diverse Cabinet in British history.

The most ethnically diverse party leader contest occurred in 2022.

The highest position in a mainstream party has been held by a Conservative

By your logic Labour must be more racist than the Conservative party

Backed up by their recent apology for anti-semitism

That's the Labour parties brand of identity politics though, to point out what people are instead of what they do.

Unless it doesn't suit their narrative, then they'll focus on what they do.

I also note note a single candidate for the last labour leader wasn't white.

Of the candidates all were female apart from Starmer

So according to your logic not only are Labour racist they are also incredibly sexist too

I'll have to filter you Sandy as you're clearly happy to throw unwarranted accusations of racism around which shows you don't care about racism at all

You must be a woman, no one can get a word in edgeways

Note that Johnson had 6 BAME members in his cabinet in 2019 Starmer had 4

Starmer then changed his cabinet in 2020 to include more BAME members, prior to taking a knee.

I don’t care what colour the Tories are, I just care about their appalling politics and ideology.

No ifs, no buts, no coconuts.
