Hugo is hopeless at kicking and dier and Royal can’t cope when we play the better teams.

Until we get players in that can defend properly we will never change.

Exactly. Full of errors that defence, it’s an absolute shambles mate.

People moan about us sitting back forgetting we've got Dier anchoring the back 3. Yeah Hugo has a panic in him but you don't see that with France.. Bastoni would've been great but if we were serious about having a go at the league we needed to buy Skriniar in the summer

Lloris is also in bad form

It’s not about form bud, they are just not good enough. Dier good performances have all coming from being protected in a the Conte system when it goes well. He’s never been good enough. Lloris is finished and Sanchez doesn’t even deserve a mention. An absolute clown.

I think Sess could be a great player for us. His main problem is confidence, it does not help that he plays one or two games and then is dropped for a couple of games. He needs a run of 8-10 games to give him a bit of confidence and I think he would start to improve. If he still is not performing consistently then he might not be good enough but he needs to be given a chance.

Yeah Hugo has a panic in him but you don't see that with France..

That isn't true, he has had his fair share of clangers - including the biggest game of them all, the World Cup final.

Hard to say its been neglected, when this season alone Peresic, Spence, Lengelet, Udogie have been added to it (albeit one out on loan) and we know we were in the market for another CB.
Romero and Emerson the season before.

The recruitment may not be right (3 rb's and none of them great, Lengelet not brought in as 1st choice) but it's clear they know its an issue and trying to address it.

Doesn't help when the game plan is invite pressure on them but don't have a player capable of transitioning from defence to attack and so the pressure just comes back again...

I put thr blame more on Conte than most. He doesn't seem to coach anything into the players. Top coaches make players better. Conte has not made one single player better. With a world class coach you would get more out of players like Sess for example. Instead, we see him sporadically and lacking confidence.

There doesn't seem to be any sort of plan or direction under Conte. It's just the same thing game after game and it's dross each time.

Yea, we could do with some better players. But improving 3 or 4 of the ones we have now would show he is elite. He isn't.

I'd even go as far as to say that I wouldn't want Levy chucking loads of money on players with Conte in charge.

Hugo have superb games to keep the score down is one thing. Actually having a superb game to win us points is another. He makes too many mistakes... Goalkeeper needs to be changed in the summer 100%

Yesterday's back 5 wouldn't look out of place in a team battling relegation.

The club has two options, back Conte and spend big on at least a RWB and CB, or get rid and go back to a project manager. Conte is a top coach, but it's becoming apparent he's very inflexible. I don't see a successful season with the players we have available in a back 5.

Bolloks. The club don’t push hard enough. If it means overpaying, then we overpay for the required quality. Going into the season with virtually the same s** defence is ridiculous

Whilst I don't disagree with the OP about the issues with our defense of far more concern is our attacking play. Davies, Dier and Sanchez are bang average. We have absolutely no plan when it comes to breaking teams down. Abysmal from such a highly paid and respected coach.

Spurs have a dreadful defence, that is why I have been advocating all season, two new CBs needed as a priority. The fact that Lloris as well looks like he is now finished is also not helping.

Going forward Doherty and Perisic surely have to be the wing backs going forward. Sessignon is never going to reach the level required in my opinion, and obviously Emerson is not flavour of the month.

Big couple of transfer windows coming up for Conte. Si many players need moving on.

That said I still expect Spurs to get top four this season, because the rest of the teams around Spurs are all hugely inconsistent as well.

If an alien landed from Mars and needed an introduction to Tottenham Hotspur football club yesterday would have been the ideal day to take them along to see what's what.

Other results went our way and it was a great opportunity to bounce back from our shocking OT performance.

However with several injuries our starting eleven was a bit iffy and our goalkeeper and captain decided to have one of his many off days (I so look forward to the day he's gone) and gave them both goals.

Like most I hoped that having got the goal back early in the second half it would lead to a Spurs onslaught but I don't remember their keeper making a save after that.

Newcastle are getting mega praise from the media but they weren't that great, as usual we gave it away.

In conclusion it was a disjointed mess and the players (Hugo in particular) deserved to be booed off.

As a side issue if Conte doesn't want to stay beyond this season then that's fine by me, I'm getting bored with him acting like he's bigger than the club. By now he should know whether he wants to hang around or fack off and many of he performances this season have been dull and underwhelming.

Despite Spurs form, I have been trying to get tickets for Arsenal and City this morning, and all tickets were sold out in 20 minutes.

The fecking ground aint big enough anymore. Everyone game is selling out this season in double quick time for some reason.

Highly frustrating, that for some reason everyone seems to want to go to watch Spurs this season.

Don, I am astonished how players like Dier and Davies have become like first picks, when they were next to useless under even Poch. They both should have been moved on. Both plodders, and certainly not good enough for a CL team. Most of the other defenders also have their faults, but have not been at the club as long as those two I mentioned. I just cannot see how they keep getting picked.

Sandy, there are other ways of getting tickets mate. I got a ticket for the Fulham game through a friend on Twitter. You need to get the connections. My brother is a season ticket holder, so i can always get games from people he knows when they can’t make it
