It rips your heart out when VAR. is wrong , city fans have to experience the hurt 😞
The Europa looks very tasty, teams dropping in:
Juve
Barca
Atletico
Sevilla
Ajax
Plus United, Arsenal, Lazio, Roma, Sociedad
That’s tough
Strike, matchtreads are just a place to moan and winge, even if their team is winning. all teams seem to be the same.

If they come out with a proper explanation that is feasible - even if I disagree with it, then I can at least understand what they thought they saw. My issue is the length of time they took - it felt like they were desperate to rule it out and were trying to find anything to

We have fans on there calling for Conte’s head when we are 3rd in the league and still top of our CL group - what the actual faaaack do they want?
We’ve had a tough week 7 faaacking days and they want him out, it’s ridiculous even Conte is saying he needs more time and more transfers which we all know.
Whenever I ask who we could bring in who would do a better job we just get a wall of silence or bring back Poch - the same fans wanted him out when we were 11th in his final season

They all get a winter break to sort out their issues. Sevilla, the manager was an issue - he is gone and they are the absolute masters of that competition.
Barca had a tough group, they will take some stopping if they take the Europa seriously, ditto Atletico.
Juve I agree are schitt.
Arsenal are useless when it comes to European competition though, they’ve only ever won 1 proper Euro comp, absolutely no pedigree.
United vs Barca/Sevilla in the final
As for us, we will probably scrape a point in France to qualify then get jumped by Bayern/PSG/Real in the next round - it’s difficult to get too worked up about

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well exactly, they clearly went in with the mindset to disallow it and then took 4 mins to work out how - load of bollox and any questionable VAR decision should be explained to both sides post match in the report, that way clubs can be assured that these VAR refs are held accountable for schitts decisions
VAR is not wrong. It is a very useful innovation. It is the VAR referee sat in a room remote from the game who gets it wrong. I would rather leave it to the referee on the pitch to use it if required for the "did the ball cross the line" type of decision.

It wasn't particularly questionable. At the moment the ball was played, Harry Kanes leg was ahead of the ball and all the defending team (bar the goalkeeper). The direction of the ball doesn't matter, and the ball deflecting off a defender also doesn't matter (although he would have been onside if the defender had been judged to have deliberately tried to play the ball instead of it deflecting off him).

Exactly, VAR wasn't brought in with the intention of stopping games for 4 mins. If it takes longer a min to decide then it's too close to call.

Who knows. Certainly felt like it was clear enough that it shouldn't have taken that long. Presumably, when it is an important decision in your career you might choose to spend a little extra time double-checking your workings to make sure that you don't get the outcome incorrect.
Have you never decided to double check something before you make an irreversible decision?

Well exactly, they clearly went in with the mindset to disallow it and then took 4 mins to work out how - load of bollox and any questionable VAR decision should be explained to both sides post match in the report, that way clubs can be assured that these VAR refs are held accountable for schitts decisions
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It wasn't particularly questionable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh I agree completely, it was a clear cut case of offside that’s why they only took 4 mins to decide
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It took too long but that doesn't make the decision incorrect. People often spend far longer than necessary on things that they want to make sure they get correct.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like I said, your saying it was a clear cut offside but it took a qualified referee with boat loads of technology at his disposal to review the incident 4 minutes to make a decision. It does not speak much to his competency if you ask me - 4 faaacking minutes, if he comes out and says 3 minutes of that was him having a Brad Pitt then fair enough, otherwise he sounds like he might have decision making issues - the Khunt

VAR is not wrong. It is a very useful innovation. It is the VAR referee sat in a room remote from the game who gets it wrong. I would rather leave it to the referee on the pitch to use it if required for the "did the ball cross the line" type of decision.

Yes, I agree, it’s the application of the system rather than the system itself.
Should be a 1 minute time limit on it, if you can’t pinpoint an issue inside a minute then the on field decision stands.
4 mins is a disgrace
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly, VAR wasn't brought in with the intention of stopping games for 4 mins. If it takes longer a min to decide then it's too close to call.
I've always said if it's so close that they need to draw lines then it's onside.

Well exactly- but of course they will change this rule to this and the first time it is used will be allow a game winning goal against Spurs, the gods faaaacking hate us

Didn't look offside to me. When its taking them 4 minutes they are looking too hard. The angle they then showed claiming it to be offside was a strange one too.
