For all the talk about how solid Everton are defensively under Lampard, they are so poor going forward. Offered nothing tonight. Still wouldn't be surprised if they went down.
Goodness me Justin and Castagne are poor tonight. If it wasn’t for Faes

You’d still bet on them to score against us though
Don't want to be defensive for last 10 minutes
Faes would get his head on an asteroid
We've forgotten how to pass the ball
Luckily so have Everton
Well I have to say - a much better second half performance than we’ve come to expect
Great Goal, much better than that flukey first one.

Here he comes, crawling out from under his rock 😂
Comfortable wins and the odd thrashing against teams that are worse than us. Predictable defeats and limp performances against teams that are better than us. Feels like that's our season in a nutshell.
Another clean sheet,,
Maybe play Faes in false no. 9?

I’ll take that right now. Anything to stay up but without Madds and Tielemans I think the longer term looks very ominous
Terrible stat that for Rodgers, first back to back away wins for nearly 2 Years!!
The Ten men and that other guy saving Rodgers bacon at the moment, even if he does think they’re dog sh!te.?

Agreed. We should be OK this season if we continue to beat teams around us but the longer term trend is still downwards. Take out Maddison and Tielemans and we lose 20+ goal contributions per season.
Just like the strong end to last season ended up papering over the cracks, our expectations are so low that staying up will be viewed by some as an achievement. We need a refresh and a rebuild to buck the trend and start moving forwards again, but I expect Top will feel justified in not sacking Rodgers and we'll just continue to tread water.
Yeah if Rodgers stays and the recruitment doesn’t seriously improve from last summer, then we’re in long term trouble. You’d hope Top has managed to stem the financial bleeding and we have money to spend in the summer because we need players in we really do
Champions league form ? 1 point from horrendous first 7 games. 16 points from the next 7 games. Look to have turned a corner at the very least. Set piece coach has seemingly benefitted the team massively. We rarely seem to do draws so hopefully another 3 points at WHam.
Forgot the set piece coach
Definitely improved things
Well, despite a fair amount of negative comments, that wasn’t a bad performance. Difficult to pick out anybody who was really below par. KDH gave it away a few times when he should have laid it off quicker, but his pass to Barnes in the build up to the first goal was sublime. Amartey was excellent alongside the impeccable Faes. Maddison and Tielemans first class; Ward getting better with every game.

16?
Playing teams right out of form Helps as well but it can’t be coincidental that the set piece coach is here, oh along with Daniel who’ll Probably get dropped as soon as old man evans is fit again.
Well, sometimes it doesn’t matter how you win, it just matters that you do. That’s how if sum that up. We really don’t create a lot of chances do we, but what we have started doing is defending.
Step forward Wout Faes. My MOTM for simply transforming our defence since he came in.
Did you we deserve to win? Just. Will I take it, yes I will!!

I think we comfortably deserved to win, Everton were awful. While we were wasteful with the final ball and didn’t create clear cut chances as a result (mainly due to sloppy play from KDH and Barnes) we were far more positive than Everton and clearly deserved the 3 points. It wasn’t even close - we had 22 shots or something daft like that.
Faes has been immense. Credit to the recruitment team for coming through.
