I’m curious to know what identity we would supposedly lose by having wealthier owners.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We wouldn't. The only difference is we'd actually be able to buy players straight away rather than this stupid sell to buy policy which is ridiculous.

I know it is another competition but we have lost agaon to a team on the bottom 3.

I know not everyone will agree but a Sovereign State need to buy us if we are to compete with City again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd rather not compete with City
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that's really sad to hear. Football is all about winning trophies isn't it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it?

And does that mean anything when it's all just money?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we’re through the looking glass KK… It’s been all just money for a long time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ye but currently we are competing as an underdog (which is mad when you look at how much we spend) so it doesn't feel so bad
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m more interested in success on the field than success in the accounting department but I think I’m in the minority there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you'd genuinely like to just have a nation buy is and pump money in and lose any meaning the club has?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What meaning does the club have that it would lose ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No go on, let’s actually debate that. Explain your reasoning so I can understand it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have a rich and successfully history but it is one that was built with hard work and great people. We have developed players and had the chance to cheer on local lads. A lot of fans feel pride in the way the club has been and the boot room tradition is a great example of that.

If we start winning a load of competitions because some rich human rights abuser is using us to sports wash their backwards country and we just buy another £60m player for the bench instead of giving that youth player a go and sack a manager who wins the league because we want the CL and get in the next big name then yes I think we have lost a tradition and a way of being.

If that young lad isn't up to it then he shouldn't be near the squad anyway, regardless if he's local or not. Also, let's not pretend that City don't use their academy. All we are asking that we have owners who see the issues in our squad and fix them immediately. Not wait 6months and miss out on CL football

We playing high flying Brighton next. A team we struggle against. I think klopp should pack the midfield. I cant see us competing against their mid.

Have to say he would probably be an improvement on Fab right now. At least Milner gets the odd tackle in and cheap fouls to take opposition players out. Fab holds up a sign pointing them to our goal.

Our strongest MF couldn’t cut it against relegation fodder reserves.

Not everybody with money in their pocket is some kind of human rights abuser for the record and John Henry isn’t exactly a pauper.

You talk as if the current team has grown through the academy, it hasn’t aside from TAA our title winning team was built in the transfer market. As everybody says we have one of the highest wage bills in world football.

Why do we pretend we are any different to other clubs? Football has been just about money for a very long time. I think we need new owners as I think the decision making both here and in Boston has been poor for a couple of years and if it’s somebody that can take us to the next level in the transfer market why would anybody be complaining?

Liverpool isn't my club, so each supporter will make their own mind up on new owners.
For myself if say Saudi Arabia had bought us I would have been sad. United would still be my team, but the club would never get a penny of me. That's just my take on it.

I'm pretty much the same. Only difference is I'd still go over to OT when finances allow. I wouldn't want to give them money but at the same time I'd still want to be able to support my club.

That's where I kind of categorise Newcastle fans into two distinct groups. Those who will still support the club but don't hide away from the ownership situation and admit that it's not what they would have wanted but it's not their choice and they can still support the club. That's fair imo and I'd be the same if it happened at United.

The other group are the idiots who wore tea towels on their heads in celebration (incredibly offensive in itself) and won't hear a word against the Saudi regime. These people tend to be morons

Not really. The wealth of Saudi Arabia is mainly controlled by the state.
