ok game from us, defended better when we have been carved open easily atleast. Fulham arent a bad team either tbf to them, well drilled and offered a threat.

He's still young and hopefully he will improve like he did in Portugal in his second season . However, you can only say what you see, and I see a quick forward and powerful forward who needs a hell of a lot of work to improve the technical side of his game.
The ironic thing is that Nunez won the game today for us, and has hardly had many mins for a while and not started a game for over a month

Yeah our main worry is Brighton for 5th and hope that Man U have their yearly bottle for 4th
Ali - 8 not much to do but stepped up when needed
Tsimikas - 5, looked rusty some good crosses some good defending last man from corners but some poor passing and decisions and defending at times too.
VVD - 8 solid, one bit of weak defending aside when konate was caught out he looked more interested in having a whinge than doing some work.
Konate - 8 again as expected on our right side tested more as teams targeted it did a lot better today won most his duels.
Trent - 8, defended really well and a joy to watch pinging balls about.
Fab - 7, solid
Jones 6.5, good first half hour but faded again
Hendo 5.5, very busy and involved but yeah not great.
Diaz, 7 did well still not fully sharp.
Nunez 6, did alright won the pen not a lot of service, lot of headlessness with his direction and decisions at times but hes a handful and usually does something even when not great, such as winning a pen.
Salah, 5, pen aside poor game imo.

Nunez is a player. He has all the physical attributes you could possibly want from a forward and he strikes a ball pretty damn well.
15 goals in his first season, playing in a team that has been utter muck at times, with a few injuries to contend with and (apparently) poor English. That’ll do for me.
Get him fit, speaking the language and with a years experience, I reckon he’ll do very well.
Haalands generational hes beating messi/ronaldo records ffs, so unfair to compare nunez to him just because they were signed in the same window by 2 competing teams. and nunez had an outstanding scoring record which matched haalands. See no other signing compared to him do you either?
also haaland 60m isnt inc huge agent fees, fees to his dad, his wages meaning over 5 years haaland would cost prob a minimum 3 times that nunez will us.

Comparing transfer fees makes it simple to compare as no one knows their wages per week etc.
Haaland for £50m looks an absolute steal while Nunez at £80m looks like a disaster of a signing, especially when you consider the state of the rest of the squad.
Don't get ne wrong, I would love him to come good, but it's looking like £80m wasted at the moment.

Let's not pretend we're paying Nunez buttons over 6 years though and paid his agent as well.
I think we’ve seen enough of Nunez to make a judgement now. I have no doubt his goal tally next season will improve if he plays the same number of games, probably 25 for the season in all comps, but I do agree in that I doubt he will ever be a real top player.
Seems to drift in and out of games a lot. Finishing and decision making is erratic. He runs hard and works hard for the team though so the fans will stick with him but there’s a ceiling to what he will achieve.

funnily enough benfica fans said the same then he had that outstanding 2nd season. again hes 23 lol doubt mane salah etc were ripping it up at that age either.
not many players do, haalands a freak. prob go on to smash all the records. so again comparisons ridiculous.

who is pretending? im well aware, but if you're gonna compare him to someone after less than a year why not lukaku, grealish, sancho, antony numerous others?
More than happy with Nunez can see why Anfield like him too and tbf even goldbridge and pundits like neville etc like him. Doubt he will be elite but he could be a very devastating player.

Let's not pretend we're paying Nunez buttons over 6 years though and paid his agent as well.

who is pretending? im well aware, but if you're gonna compare him to someone after less than a year why not lukaku, grealish, sancho, antony numerous others?

More than happy with Nunez can see why Anfield like him too and tbf even goldbridge and pundits like neville etc like him. Doubt he will be elite but he could be a very devastating player.
