Sisqo is an (former) modern musical artist who had silver dyed hair, that is a massively distinguishable feature. This other guy is supposed to be someone from slavery times. Stop being complicit

Why is it any different from calling a white footballer the name of someone else based on a similarity? Like calling anyone who has that long frizzy hair "David Luiz" for example - Guendouzi or the CB at Leicester etc..

That someone looks a bit like someone? I don't know, I have only just looked this Chicken George up for the first time, and seen one picture of an old black man from the 19th century who was apparently born into slavery, who has whiteish/greyish hair.

Not saying he looks like him but I'm assuming the link is to do with the hair more than anything. Could be wrong.
