I don't hold much affection for United but even I find this slightly annoying.
It would be hilarious if ETH picked him for the next home game at OT so the fans could show their 'appreciation' one last time.
I’m sure there are aspects of truth to his points, a lack of evolution, a lot of change needed, but to oust Ten Hag who the fans are clearly on board with isn’t the way to go about it if you want to keep your legacy in tact.
I accept it's all for his own benefit really. Deary me can he really not see how he's playing?
It’s the sort of interview that just causes more disruption to any process that’s ongoing to improve the things he’s criticising.
He has a huge ego and seems unaware he’s actually part of the problem.
No wonder he doesn’t like the new manager…sounds like his last hissy fit before he packs his bags in January.

That's the plan. We're better off without him just like with Pogba. We don't want to be a soap opera / circus and these two just have to create a toxic atmosphere because their ego is too big.
He's scored 3 goals this season, 2 of which came against minnows from Moldova. đ

Will be happening very shortly. The only questions that remain are financial and who United can bring in before the season restarts.

To all people saying what he said about the club is true - maybe, but he said that with no purpose of helping the club getting better whatsoever. It is just to justify his ego and boost his chance for a move in Jan. Shame the story today should be about Garnacho.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This. Any legitimate criticism of the club is just filler content (and ignoring the fact that the people in charge since earlier this year are actually trying to do something about it). The point of the interview isn't to raise constructive criticism.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly.
The stagnation he criticised is hardly a groundbreaking revelation. The fact he thought he could -in a playing capacity- be any part of the solution shows just how out of touch with reality he is.
Also, as much as he's a professional footballer and is entitled to negotiate the best possible deal for himself, if he had really loved and cared about United that much, he wouldn't have milked the club for every last penny or tried so often to turn himself into United's main headline grabber for all the wrong reasons.
None of this should come as any surprise though. He always wore his narcissism on his sleeve and was happy for years to play out his self-infatuation, not just on billboards and high-profile events, but also on a football pitch twice a week.
He's come to need that attention so badly, that he's now seeking it in any possible way. Pathetic and sad, really.
I don’t think any fan has any issues with what he said about the faculties etc…but what the majority of fans will have an issue with is the timing of the interview, the self serving nature of it, and the fact he has seemingly (and we will have to wait to see the context in the full interview) gone in on pretty much anyone who has not bowed down before him. All of this is totally unacceptable and will leave a very bad taste for many fans. Where his defenders fall down with their claim that his criticisms are genuine and trying to help the club, is the fact he has called out a manger who is trying to rid the club of those very issues, all because he won’t start him every week regardless of his poor performances. He’s a narcissist and only interested in himself, not Manchester United.
Quite simply, this guy's return to man United was the worst bit of business that this Club has ever done (Thanks Ed) that scupprered everything that it was working too at the time and basically his ego and his self obsessed ambition made the club unmanageable. And it still is as his circus continues to dictate the conversation even down to the bitter bloody end. Now he is finished as a footballler and at United especially ETH can finally start his job. Good times will now come.
If he had been any good at football anymore at this level it would have been a kinda bonus I suppose.
Just fucq off Ronaldo. You are dead to this club.
That's why you dont sign players who are 30 year or older. It was an emotional decision to sign him based on sentiments.

I can't see us keeping him for 5 weeks.
I'm sure we all knew he is an egoist, but I thought he had some love for the club, it appears not.
At least it's just before the break, so hopefully not too disruptive.
It's not a big surprise, he was never one of us.

I’d be telling him that we’d be looking to do exactly that given that he’s as good as asked to be terminated, but that surely it’d be best for both parties to sit down and agree an exit by mutual consent.
