Liquid is a wum.
Zidane was superb but I do also think he gets a tad underrated. Was he that much better than a peak Laudrup? I'm not so sure plus his numbers were never great.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not wumming.
Zidane is at best Top 20 all-time, but he’s often ranked Top 5 and some even say he’s the GOAT.
That’s why he’s the most overrated ever.
You only have to look at his numbers to see he has no business in the Top 5/10 all-time.
All of them were more influential than Mbappe. End of thread.
He created an article to highlight what he said.
Cruyff was the most influential because players copied him. Then look at his record with Barcelona. The others may or may not have been better depending on your own idea of 'best'.
But Cruyff answers the Op's question

Cruyff and Zidane were better than Mbappe currently is imo anyway, one other little thing is both them, especially Cruyff played when tackles were damn near assaults and with todays protection would likely be even more effective/good

But Cruyff answers the Op's question
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Correct
One of the greatest players of all time, Johan Cruyff quite possibly has more things named after him than any other player in history. The Johan Cruyff Shield is the inaugural game of every Dutch season, a Super Cup between the winner of the league and the winner of the cup. The Johan Cruyff Award is the name of the Dutch Footballer of the Year award, and has been since 1984. 14282 Cruijff is an asteroid/minor planet named after Cruyff which was ratified by the IAU in 2010. Other things named after Cruyff include the Johan Cruyff Institute, the Johan Cruyff Foundation, Cruyff Courts, Johan Cruyff University and Johan Cruyff College. The most famous of all though is the ‘Cruyff Turn’, named after the move that the Dutch legend used on a regular basis.
On top of that two top clubs accredit him with a major influence in their playing culture to this day.
On all these fronts he is probably the most influential player ever. Not necessarily best, not most lethal.

Jeex, we have enough trouble comparing CR7 and Messi even though only one would get into the GOAT caants team.
After messi and ronaldo Zidane is probably the third best player of my lifetime. MAybe original ronaldo in there too.
Zidane controlled games, created moments of magic, was a man amongst boys.
People nowadays wouldn't rate vieira, young roy keane and others because they look at their stats.
Ignorance at it's finest.
Worst thing about messi and ronaldo is they have destroyed lots of peoples abilities to use their own eyes and look at the nuances of football to judge a player.

I have to assume you never watched Zidane.
He is the greatest player of all time for me. The ball was like a magnet to his feet and his vision was second to none. Always did it on the biggest stages.
I actually think Ronaldinho could have had the highest peak we’ve ever seen (albeit faded quickly). But for a good 18 months, he was exhibiting on field prowess to a level we’d never seen before.

Messi is the GOAT and probably Ronaldo (debatable).
