We all have our foibles.

I think it will either be a France vs Brazil final or England vs Brazil.

So I will say Brazil will win it from here

England lose the shootout and two of the players that miss apparently have a "redemption" story because they stat pad in the opening group game of the Euros against Albania. Just as what happened this time.

Most England fans are easier to please than The Glazer supporting section of our fanbase.

Still Brasil.

Be nice to see the GFB in a spontaneous combustion incident.

Anyone but England
Would love a rank outsider to win it like Morroco.
Would like a grand piano or a massive bank safe to fall onto Neymar's head to give him summat to greet about. Wee whank.

didnt have a favourite coming in to it ... still dont.

I dont think there was a standout team this year.

a lot of very evenly matched teams and I think it will just boil down to who ever has a good game on the day. as stupid as that is to say.

Never been a huge one, but

Germany 54 weren’t expected to beat Hungary
Germany 74 were not favourites against the Dutch
Italy 82 - arguably the biggest upset based on where they were pre tournament
France 98 - although they were at home and had some great players, they hadn’t qualified for the 2 previous world cups
Italy 2006 - not heavily tipped pre tournament and quite a few expected Germany to do them in the semis

Hungry absolutely destroyed them in the group stages and it was expected they would do so again in the final.

A lot of the credit for the final win was given to a certain Adi Dassler, who invented a new type of studded football boots that helped the Germans cope with the slippery conditions. Thus, the miracle of Berne took place.

The game actually led to significant political ramifications in both countries.

Had Brazil on from pre-tournament.

Assuming they get through Croatia, I fancy them against both Argentina and the Netherlands, although an Argentina tie would be tasty given the current recent run of results between the two.

I just think Brazil have too much about them to not make the final.

Portugal are dark horses to make the final too. Some attacking line up they have and bags of experience as well as youth throughout the team. A little thin in depth if they pick up a crucial injury or red card.

a lot of that core portugal team know how to grind results out too.

I overlooked them but they look very organised and look very focussed and confident

I know it was only Switzerland but some of the football Portugal played in that last game was an absolute joy to watch.

Joao Felix is wasted in that Atletico side. I know it's lazy to make comparisons, but I mind when I first started noticing him in that Benfica team a few years ago and thinking he was Figo mkII

by all accounts Man Utd are sniffing around Felix, agreed however he is being majorly stifled in that Madrid team.

Difficult call Portugal, they weren’t great in the group stage - but was that due to the Ronaldo issue?

Looked great against Switzerland, but just how good are Switzerland and was it more them playing badly.

They look good for the semis of course, I’m not sure they beat England, France or Brazil though

The reason I fancied Brazil from the off is that they've got strength across the team, plenty of strength in depth too, loads of serial winners in that side, two of (certainly in my eyes with Alison the best) goalkeepers in the world, bags of experience but plenty of youth, the team spirit looks as though it's been there for the last year or so, and they have been allowed recently to just express themselves on the pitch.. which has always been Brazil at their best.

Just have something about them this year

You do remember Portugal having a spells v Ghana and Uruguay where they simply blew them away? Ronaldo was there.

Portugal with or without Ronaldo are a quality team. the English obsession with Ronaldo right now is funny. Portugal win, nothing said, Portugal lose - blame Ronaldo.

Saying you aren't sure they can beat England - based on what that you think Switzerland arent great? So far England have beat a poor Wales team, a poor Senegal team and an awful Iran team.
