One of the darkest Detective shows is Netflix - Bordertown from Finland. Well worth the watch as is Deadwind from the same country.

Spiral is probably the best of the French ones.

Haven't trawled through this lot...but has Helen Mirren as Jane Tennyson not been mentioned

Series one alone was some of THE best TV ever...it was unbelievably brilliant & edge of the seat stuff
