Please show me another event that caused a similar number of deaths? Considering Qatar used slave Labour to construct these stadiums and these people were treated like absolute sh-t I’d imagine far more than anything similar hence why the outrage.

There has not been another event where so much infrastructure was built over a twelve year period. Stadiums, Roads, underground rail links and over two hundred hotels.

You realise that the Qatari organisers had zero influence on the football being played on their pitches, right?
The football has been great. Outside of that, it has been a disaster.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
what has been a disaster? People who have been out there all reckon it has been great.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m sure some people have.
For others it has been a disaster: tents and portacabins with no aircon for accommodation, overzealous security staff, rip off merchants, supermarkets price fixing, inability to pay for food and drink at stadia and in fan zones with anything other than Visa… See the links above.
It certainly appears to have been the most successful sportswashing event in history, I’ll give it that.
I've seen fan cams and it's like a party atmosphere as all the fans are together in one city. The no drink policy has actually added to the great atmosphere, no trouble due to the drunken debauchery you would usually get from fans, especially the English fans.
Price gorging happens at every event.
While I'm not a fan of Qatar, I hate that the West try and pontificate to them what we think is right and wrong and especially after the things we do across the world, and also what about China, hardly anything was said about them and their human rights abuses when they hosted the winter Olympics recently. There were a few protests but not a lot from the media and the athletes.
It's been a great WC due to the drama in the games but the quality of football has been poor for me, I did miss the PL.
