It's not like GNev to overhype something/someone.
Due to the internet, everything has to be the best ever or worst ever. And that can change during a match as well. Can go from being the best team of all time when 2-0 up to a team in crisis if it gets back to 2-2.
The game wasnt great untill France got back in the game, before that France had been awful but you cant deny that after the France pen it came to life.
still don't think it was a patch on the champions league final of 2005.
People are always gonna say things directly after such an event. Once the dust settles, most will agree it was one of the best WC finals ever and will likely be in a top 10 of cup finals ever. So it's hard to say that it is being overrated.
In terms of the best football match ever, it's not close.

Was definitely one the best games I’ve ever seen considering it was on the biggest stage in the sport, and the two best players in the world really did go toe to toe
The drama in the last 10 minutes plus extra time was just brilliant.
Thought it was an excellent final, best ever, probably not. But it was arguably better than run of the mill PL games a the stakes were far higher.
I haven't heard many say it was the best game ever. However, I've heard plenty say it was the best World Cup final ever and it certainly shiiiiits all over any others I've seen.
Best game I've seen was prob Liverpool v Newcastle in 96. Probs a weird one coming from a United fan but we had a vested interest in the result and it ended up as the right result for us.

If you factor in all of the subplots (Messi ending the CR7 debate, Mbappe vs Messi, Messi GOAT etc.) and the fact it was a WC Final, then you can make the case that it’s the best football game ever played.
