That should add £70m to City's war chest..

..or £45m if he goes to Newcastle.

Season defining game in Kane's Bundesliga today

posted on 10/12/23

Leverkusen go into the match unbeaten in 13 Harry Kane's Bundesliga matches and could extend their lead to 6 points over Harry Kane's Bayern. Leverkusen are also unbeaten in all Harry Kane's competitions this season. A victory for Stuttgart would put them above Harry Kane's Bayern in Harry Kane's Bundesliga. Harry Kane's Bundesliga's Stuttgart's Guirassy has 16 goals in just 11 appearances. A better goalscoring record than Harry Kane's Bundesliga's Harry Kane's Bayern Munich's Harry Kane, in Harry Kane's Bundesliga this season.

You can't just presume that you deserved more because you created better chances.

Eh? Makes no sense to me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Let me change the framing, see if you get it:

Imagine Arsenal playing Madrid in the Champions League in the CL.

Arsenal come racing out of the gates, and in the opening 15 minutes, blow Madrid apart. Thanks to two golazos and a tap in, they race out to a 3-0 lead on an xG of 0.93.

For the rest of the game they sit back and soak up Madrid's pressure. Ramsdale (in for the injured Raya) makes a string of impressive saves, as Madrid squander chance after chance. The final whistle goes, and it's 3-0 to the Arsenal.

Madrid have racked up 26 shots and an xG of 2.99 to Arsenal's 4 and 0.96.

According to your logic, Madrid must have deserved to win clearly.

However, that would be overlooking the fact that Arsenal put the game to bed inside 15 minutes, meaning that they didn't need to take any risks and simply adjusted to the situation managed the game according to the result and their best interests.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't talked about any stats. I judge a game on what I see. We shouldnt have lost against Villa. End of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

His point was absolutely spot on.

Sometimes teams choose to sit in and play on the counter.

Do you not deserve to win a game if you’ve set up to concede possession and play deep?

Well in March 2014 Arsenal beat Spurs 1-0 we scored in the 2nd minute and struggled after that. Spurs missed at least 3 sitters. It was a game we were very fortunate to win and we didn't deserve to win it.
Yesterday's game was relatively similar to an extent.

Sure, I was just responding to the more broader point at the top of the thread, rather than yesterday in particular.

Almost every match, the commentator says something like "the stats suggest that team X is dominating, but that doesn't tell the full story". Basically when a team has 65% or so possession and are 3-0 down cos conceded early goals and the other team were clinical. You'd have thought we'd get to a point where we all understand football enough that we don't need this explained. But if Hafi is a real person, then I guess we do.

posted on 10/12/23

And you are having lots of attempts at goal because you have not scored. The other team scored with their attempts so they don't need to keep attempting to score as much now. Therefore having more attempts than the other team doesn't mean you deserved to win. OK HAFI?? If you do indeed exist.

Celtic fans will do their faux celebration where they invade the pitch after a last minute winner to go a million points clear. They have to invent excitement or they'd just kill themselves
