2 things. Furlough wasn't means tested. So Liverpool City Spurs didn't have to show anything if they chose to furlough staff. Often furlough was because work wasn't there...how many stewards did you think a club needed when we had no stadiums fans. How many ticket sales staff?

Secondly, Spurs lost 150m in covid. You are right that they could probably suck up the costs of paying staff to do nothing and it was a poor decision but they were within their right to do so and reversed it any way, not taking a penny from the Govt.

West Ham pay more to rent their stadium, which the tac layer paid for, like Etihad. Except they are limited on what money they can make out of it - can't sponsor it, only get some if food and drink sales. City get it all and pay a relative derisory rent for your Council house

You really have no clue to what you're babbling on about.

It's on a 250 year lease that can't be bought out because of the original funding.

The Council's contribution to the original structure was about £50m, City have paid that back at least twice over since 2002.

It had an original capacity of about 20,000 with one end a temporary structure with no roof.

By the end of next season, it will have a capacity of 62,000 with City's contribution to development rising to about £700m.

City pay for everything, even the upkeep of the athletics track next door. The Council basically get £5m a year for absolutely nothing unlike the London Stadium where the upkeep is covered by the taxpayer.
