Fwiw, if I had to spend the money, I’d be betting on City reeling Arsenal in and United finishing third.
No I don’t think we are, but having a nice run of 3 easy games (Forest, Wolves and Bournemouth) and not dropping points like we would have done in recent years is pleasing, top four and maybe a cup would be a great start for ETH but as has been pointed out, any run of games without Casemiro & Varane would probably take it’s toll
On another note, all those who claimed city would run away with the league by signing Haaland should now realise, football doesn’t work like that
If it were just Arsenal to reel in then I think we'd have much more of a chance. Even though we're nearer to City I always feel they can go on a mad winning run and take it away. It'll be interesting to see how Arsenal react v Spurs. More dropped points and the doubts may set in.
Nah, no reliable striker will hinder us this season I reckon but if we end up third I'd be absolutely delighted. The improvements we've seen so far under EtH have been so satisfying to watch and I'm only expecting us to continue improving over the next couple years which is something I've not felt like in years.
If the miracle did happen and we lifted the trophy, you'd have to chuckle at Ronaldo missing out on the fun to go pick up his wage check in SA.
(and yea, i get that letting him go would likely have an impact on us lifting said trophy, but would still be quite funny).
Cant see beyond City for the title again, but think we are in the mix with Arsenal, Newcastle and the rest for 2nd or 3rd.
Whilst Rashford is on a hot streak, he still has less league goals than Toney, Mitrovic, Rodrigo, Almiron, Maddison, and is by far our top scorer.

Absolutely. City, even with their recent dropped points, will be the litmus test. I'm hoping EtH will have learnt from the reverse fixture and not be quite as open. I wouldn't be surprised to see Fred start instead of Eriksen.

City will probably have more of the ball than us so, for this game, I'd go with Fred's extra mobility. Eriksen would be a handy sub if chasing the game and/or when spaces open up.

Ronaldo would be eligible for a winner’s medal if the unthinkable happened, and as such I doubt he’d give a shiiiit about not being there to celebrate.
He’d also be eligible for an EL winner’s medal.
I’d say so yes. It’s still early enough in the season I wouldn’t discount many just yet and I’m not sure previous seasons are a particularly useful barometer for this one.
You may be surprised to learn that I'm not an elite football manager, but for what it's worth, I'd suggest the converse idea that reducing City's ability to hurt us is as much about shape as it is about personnel, and playing Fred instead of Eriksen could mean we lose possession faster when we get the ball, which results in us having to sustain more pressure. It will be interesting to see what the manager decides to do.
Get a CB, CM and CF next Summer and I think we could genuinley challemge next season.

That's fair. I was thinking of his performance against Spurs although, with some justification, you could point to our games v Arsenal and Liverpool for an opposing view too.
My thinking is even though we've improved and are evolving our best chance v City, IMO, is the tried and trusted Ole method of sitting in and hitting them on the break.

Yes it's a shame, since the Forest game there was signs that he was at least showing something. He was decent last night until the injury. It was a nasty tackle but the Bournemouth lad slipped so can't be blamed.
If we win our next two games (city and arsenal), which is a huge ask, then we will be.
Just mathematically you'd have to say we're in it.
One behind city and six behind Aresenal.
Also taking into account that those teams still have to play each other twice.
I’d take 2 points from the City and Arsenal games if you offered me that now.
