£400k per week would buy you a decent spec robodog every ten seconds or so, meaning that before you realised that the love shown by the latest one placed in front of you was cold, hard code masquerading as true doggy devotion, the next would arrive; thus delivering an endless stream of satisfactorily authentic affection heartwarming enough to keep the paracetamol in the bathroom cabinet.

£400k per week is probably around the tipping point in terms of sufficiently novel robodog spending capacity I’d imagine.

Any less than that and you’d probably just have to get a flesh dog to keep yourself alive.

You’d need to be careful some hacker doesn’t give the robodogs roborabies.

Fair point.

I guess the very last thing you’d need when you’re already suffering from a canine devotion deficiency-induced depressive episode would be a new roborabies-infected robodog arriving at your front door every ten seconds.

Maybe legacy flesh dogs are the way forwards after all. At least until robodogs have a mandated roborabies shot regime (cue the anti-robodog-vaxxers) and can pass the Turing Test.

Actually 7k a year for 50 years would be the optimum with quality of life inflation in my 80s. I could still be fit and healthy in my 80s.

Hope Sancho sorts it all out for himself & for United but mostly for United. I like the way that ETH has handled this. It’s a considered & tailored approach.
