Hasn't blown anyone away but gives the side genuine balance which we've lacked for years. You could argue that's simply by virtue of being an actual right winger (which we havent had for ages) but I think he also obviously understands Ten Hag's principles better than most.

Still needs to do more individually but I hope that will come, the talent is there.

The team looks better when he is there. He's scoring a decent amount and works hard going the other way but I'd like to see him be more creative and take on players more.

I thought he looked more adventurous for Brazil in the World Cup.

All in all I'm happy we signed him but he does need to raise it a few levels in the long term.

Robben had blistering pace and could run at and beat people all game long. Antony is quick but he doesn't run at players or really take people on. Even against lower league opposition he isn't committing people and going past them.

That's not a major issue per say; there's lots of inverted wide players who are more creative and look for passes rather than beating players, but his passing, decision making and precision needs to be much better to compensate for the other things he's not doing.

I'm very much on the fence about him, though he seems to have a bit of swagger and self belief, he's still young, new to the club/league/country and will get better. He also tries to affect the game, which is something we've not really seen too much from Sancho.

I don't mind him cutting inside so much, provided the RB is always going on the overlap, and they learn how to cross properly.

Saw it a couple of times yesterday, that when he cuts in they immediately start trying to cut off the shot, which was leaving acres for a run down the right.

I think there's a player there for sure. The price tag doesn't really bother me all that much - not like he set it for himself

I like him and think there's a lot more to come from him

Only 22 and stepping up to a higher standard with better defences to face... Think he's playing within himself a bit but will kick on

Works hard, goal threat, he'll be fine

I think he’s a brilliant signing.

Actually has a better scoring record in England than in Brazil and Netherlands. We watch the PL every week and comment on how crap the defending is. He is scoring about the amount he should be scoring.

He is still young and new league but so far other than a good left foot he does lack skill and pace. The best inverted left footed wingers like Robben, Salah, Mahrez have that pace too.

Robben made a wonderful career with just cutting on to his left foot so you could argue that’s all you need.

Bloody hell that's an understatement and a half.
Robben was one of the best dribblers and drivers of a football for the last 20 years.

Messi made a career of cutting in on his left foot so don't see why Antony can't have similar success.

2 feet aren't essential but it helps. The key difference with Robben and Antony was that Robben was incredibly fast.

I think we need to forget about Antony's price tag as we clearly paid way more than he is worth but EtH obviously rates him so we need to give him time to settle.

Agree on this. Had some good appearances for Brazil.

I just wish he’d take someone on down the outside once or twice a game. Is so predictable that he’ll shift it onto his left and cut inside. But he’s doing ok.

Couple of match winners in the next week or two will do nicely!

I watched him for Brazil against Cameroon and he was beating the defender down the outside. No idea why he doesn't do it more for us.

I think some are overly critical of him, there's certainly a feeling around the ground of frustration he doesn't take a defender on, use his right foot, always cuts inside.

Personally, I like what I've seen, he isn't a marauding winger who is going to beat a man at every chance, but more of a wide creator. He's new to the PL and still only 22.

I think he needs a better full back alongside him and time to reconcile his style with those around him.

I think this sums it up well.

I'm not worried about him. He's contributing to our progress in playing the kind of football ETH wants in terms of team shape and movement, defending from the front, etc. I think he has been a contributor to the shift in mentality towards aggression. He's technically very proficient, and hard to dispossess. He's obviously going to score quite a few of his trademark goals over the course of a season. His off the ball movement is good (and has contributed to creating half spaces for others to score). I think as he gets more experience with the league he'll refine his decision making, and work on both going round the outside of the defender, and adding some variety to his technique for cutting inside. Currently he tends to rely on dropping his shoulder, and gets a bit predictable, whereas Robben was so effective because he had a few different tricks to disguise the timing.

I think he will come good. I reckon it will also help a lot if we can put a right back performing at close to the level of Luke Shaw next to him. Dalot's improvement is encouraging and he has the flexibility to overlap and underlap, but doesn't yet have comparable dynamism or threat in the final third.

I’m actually a fan of his and he’s your best player imo.

A lot of the best players of all-time were 1-footed; Messi, Maradona, Ozil, Di Maria etc.

He looked tricky at the World Cup, was bamboozling defenders.

He’s in danger of going from Nani to Obertan for me.

He's been at the club for less than six months and already has five times as many goals as Obertan (and more goals than Nani scored in the 41 appearances of his debut season).

This. I actually think he will turn out to be better than Nani who is one of the most overrated United players since the turn of the century.

One of the things I noticed from what I saw of him from Ajax is that his dribbling usually came from horizontal runs, adjacent to the box, with runners around him. He doesn’t seem to have the pace to beat full backs in a foot race but can unbalance them with skill when they are on the back foot. We haven’t been getting him into positions to do that enough. And we probably won’t do until we’ve had more time under ETH and we’ve brought in better suited players to play a higher line.

Nani was very gifted but didn't quite channel that into elite level productivity. Hard to say what Antony's ceiling is, but I'm fairly confident that his mentality will see him make the most of what he's got. If you look at his life story - both his early years in the favela and his progress through the footballing ranks - it speaks of someone who is grounded, fearless, and ready to work his socks off to go to the next level. Ten Hag has talked about reasserting the need to recruit people with the right personality to play on the biggest stage, not just the ability, and I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons he chose Antony over cheaper alternatives.

My worry is that he may be 'found out'. It's incredible how similar his (albeit spectacular) goals have been.

He’s actually a brilliant crosser with his right foot. The plan has been for him to pretend otherwise until January, score some beauties coming in onto his left, thus causing defenders to force him onto his right; then, he’ll be free to whip the ball in Beckham-style to the head of Wout Weghorst. It’s genius.
