Hmm

Not mad about Bruno on the right.

He lacks the pace to play there and vacates the position far too much. It has rarely worked.

Antony hasn’t pulled up any trees but he keeps the pitch wide, adds balance and is a goal threat.

Shaw at CB as I predicted.

We’re stuffed. Absolute sh*tshow of a starting line up.

Quicker than Martinez and also good at progressing the play.

On way to match, Shaw been decent at CB recently but that’s a major red flag for me today against their lot

Not sure about Shaw at CB. Is he going to be able to handle crosses into the box? Haaland will likely be looking to isolate him.

Not bad, shame Martinez doesn’t start but possibly not fully ready and Shaw’s done well there. Definitely proves that EtH rates Shaw better than Maguire at CB.

Fred will give us more energy in the middle today.

City’s CBs look like their weak link today.

There will be a goal because of that I feel

Maguire is done when Shaw is starting ahead of him in a derby

Just realised Antony’s been dropped. I guess EtH has sacrificed him and a threat on the right for better control in the middle.

Basically playing for a 0-0.

Interesting that both Fred and Eriksen are starting. Many suggested Eriksen should be dropped so we had good energy and aggression in our pressing. I thought we might need Eriksen in order to avoid ceding even more possession to City. I guess ETH concluded we needed both, and Antony has paid the price. Bruno has to be in the mix, as he is crucial to transitional attacks.

Not the starting 11 I’d have gone with unless Martinez has taken a knock but I understand seeing a more compact team to try and contain City a bit. Good options from the bench to change the attack later on if we’re still in it.

ETH knows more than I do so I’ll see how it goes.

I'm not surprised we've bolstered the midfield but am a little surprised at Shaw as CB. I wouldn't be surprised though to see us trying to keep it tight the first half then move Shaw to LB and juggle it about a bit in front. At least we have options off the bench.

I'm worried about Malacia vs Mahrez tbh

plus, we tend to miss Shaw a lot when he isn't LB in terms of our attacking play

exact same back 3 when they beat us 6-3
though they didn't have Rodri for that game

Cancelo has been dog shiiit though and Ake is crap, I like that Akanji though

All I ask is that we're not 3 or 4 nil down by half time

If we concede a goal, whatever, but don't collapse
