A lot of clubs have players still starting from around 6-7 years ago. Man Utd have De Gea Shaw Rashford Martial.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is not lots of clubs, and maybe why Man U are not in the CL.

Nothing wrong with having some continuity in the squad but it needs to be the right players obviously not just some hangers on
I'm only guessing but more often than not successful sides would likely have at least 3 or 4 long standing players
One thing, and as I'm not a Spurs fan it's imo only getting rid of Kane would be mad, he's one of the best strikers around and could you see yourself getting anyone in who is as good?
I can't.

It must feel like they have had Maguire for 7 years but it's been about 3.
...
thats 7 years at his pace though lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sorry, but I stopped reading the OP after it was suggested that Kane should be got rid of.
If it wasn't for Kane we would be a mid table outfit probably getting sucked into relegation battles like West Ham, Everton etc.
I totally agree with everyone that says a change of ownership is what is needed. Although, I wouldn't subscribe to just anyone owning our club just because they've got a bit of money. It would have to be a good fit.
But I cannot let Conte off the hook for yesterday (and prior games). He just seems to not know any other way of setting up other than 3 at the back, 2 WBs and 2 in midfield.
Yesterday was crying out for a 3 man central midfield and I think this was obvious to everyone except him. I just can't understand it. Sarr and PEH had no chance.
Also, he has to show some balls and drop Son. Son's form has been abyssmal and there's no incentive for him to improve if his place in the team is guaranteed each week. Look how he responded when he was dropped to the bench on one occasion earlier this season.
I wrote an article a couple of weeks ago headed "Conte has to win the NLD" and the reasons were set out which I won't repeat now. However, I will just say that his time is now up. He doesn't seem to want to sign a new contract so I just don't see the point in continuing with him, while other elite (modern thinking) managers are currently available.
Would be more than happy with Thomas Frank, agree that ENIC are going nowhere anytime soon. Lewis is clearly looking for a sale but it's gonna be for outrageous money and it aint happening anytime soon... QSI are not in a position for a total buyout of Spurs because of EUFA rules on Ownership (PSG)
Can't be bothered commenting on the squad (we are by far the worst of the big clubs at recycling the team at the right time) and as for Conte.... I hope the fans don't use their fury at ENIC to give Conte a pass.. He's a joke of a manager. One dimensional hoofball merchant who's basically useless without a huge war chest and the league's best players..... He's a total fraud and years past his best, Football has moved on from his pragmatic, "play not to lose" garbage..... Frank, Howe, Poch, Kompany..... Basically anyone who wants to play attacking football, keeps his mouth shut and focuses on winning games and improving the players at his disposal

Yeah that’s just silly reactionary nonsense.
Kane really needs to move on if he wants to win anything. Levy will have a dilemma this summer over whether to sell him.
We will probably lose Kane in the summer whether we want to keep him or not. Why on Earth would he stay? In which case it's best to start afresh anyway. Conte may well want to go himself.
Might need to start another project with an attack-minded manager not afraid to be flexible with his tactics. Not sure why Frank is the only manager we should look at though?
Sandy, isn't this the exact kneejerk reactionary article you criticised half the forum for making in the last few weeks? Yesterday was always going to happen. Take a breath and try again in a few days when you've calmed down. Selling Kane FFS. Although, admittedly, it's hard not to agree with some of the rest of the squad.

Agree, it will depend on how much he would want for him but atm he might feel the fans would go mental if he was sold? I think Kane fancied a move when City were suitors but again not sure if he would push for a move again?

Kane is nearer to the end of his contract so the ball is more in his court than it was back when City showed an interest, when it was in Levy's. All he has to do is say he's not interested in renewing his contract. Big clubs will show an interest and Levy won't want him to leave for free so more likely to sell him.
We need around £400m to fix our squad and challenge for the title, that ain't happening under ENIC
