Don't see how he provides any cover for Partey, if he gets injured we'll need to massively adjust how we play and that could be a major problem.

Zinchenko was mentioned as potentially being able to play in midfield, any chance he could provide that cover?

Zinchenko getting into these midfield spaces from left back is one of the key reasons we have been able to control the majority of games this season. Whilst I love KT, he is not able to do this to the same effect.

Lokonga doesn't know how to position himself, looks lazy and totally disoriented. Also, don't know where people get this that he is athletic, it's not like I've seen he wins duels often or outruns someone. He is solid on the ball tough.

I'm not saying he's a brilliant replacement, I just think he's got more of the raw attributes to work with if we say Partey was out for a couple of months. He did okay when he had a run of games alongside Partey with Xhaka out.

Then everyone got on his case when Partey got injured and he started against Brighton with Odegaard in centre mid with Xhaka at left back then again against Southampton with Tavares at left back and Cedric at right back. The team was in a bit of a rut and he was the fall guy. I'm not saying he will be really good like Nketiah has been, but he could surprise people with a stronger team around him.

It's irrelevant now though cos we've got Jorginho.

The real issue is - why are we faffin about with another chelsea reject?

Why are our scouts not identifying quality midfield defenders who don't cost us the silly money we wanted to pay Brighton?

Have they learned NOTHING from the Pepe debacle?

Not sure there are many who can provide a direct cover for Partey. Elneny couldn't, he was just a player who could play DM in our second XI.

Personally I'd have preferred to just stick with Lokonga and see how he fared if needed with our strongest team around him. I think he had the ability, physicality and athleticism to do that role and he might have grown into it if given a chance.

However Arteta seems him every day and obviously doesn't think so therefore we've landed on Jorginho to replace the injured Elneny and therefore, we might not see all that much of him.

Yeah, Lokonga is so poor positionally that he can't play DM for us. He doesn't have a great attitude either & he's certainly not athletic. He's so far behind Partey you'd need binoculars to see him ! A loan is a good idea, I doubt he'll ever make it at Arsenal but you never know so a loan is worth a try.
