I think the negatives are pretty obvious in all honesty. Too many players out of form or simply not good enough having to play still. Lack of a real striker and goals in general. But I think we're moving away from the problem with players coming back from injury and the new signings. If we can line up against West ham with kepa, James, Silva, badiashile, chilwell, Enzo, Mudryk, madueke, Felix and a couple of others I think we get a very different outcome
With £600m in signings the positives look bleak to be honest. United was chastised over spending bucket loads and still looking poor. Its your turn now.

You've been poor half a season already with £400m in signings. Added £200m this winter. You'd expect better results that a 0-0 against Fulham after 20 matches. Took ETH 2-3 matches in the PL to start turning things around. Anyway, I agree, if you go on a run from next match on, opo fans wont have much to laugh at other than calling it doped results.
The negatives for me were we didn't win of course but that was down to a team that has barely played together before die to injuries and acquisitions. Saw more positives though.
I've seen a better Chelsea get beaten by Fulham at Craven cottage. Drogba scored that day but it was disallowed.
Also had a good pre match beverage and catch up with an old original 606 poster, Number 1 was Robert Flek.

Only one negative for me Biggish and that was we didn't win.
The media that love to put the knife in and rivals are too blinkered to see anything other the money spent because that is all they want to see.
Anyone who looks objectively will have noticed that all these players signed are between 20 and 22 and far from the finished article. It should be obvious to anyone with half a brain cell ( which rules out a high proportion of JA696 contributers for a start) that these signing have not been bought in with a view to immediate success but with the vision of a bright and lively team in a few years time.
Great to see James and Chilly back last night albeit being obviously rusty and not in tandem with each other.

The result is not the negative for me tbh. But 22 goals in 21 games and the continued lack of creativity and fluidity in the team without any sign as yet of an identity or improvement is negative 🐘 in the room. Results don't really matter that much for the rest of the season but an improvement does. Way too many excuses being made for Potter. He now has players coming back from injury as well as new players and with 17 PL games to go he has the opportunity to show if he is upto the job. All I ask is that he gets this team playing some decent and cohesive football by the end of the season. If he can't do that then he ain't good enough to manage Chelsea.
Biggish, on the contrary I don't think Potter is being given enough slack.
He's inherited a dysfunctional squad that desperately needed dismantling, he has now been given another crop of young players to integrate, develop and get to gel together.
I have no idea if Potter is the man for the job but he needs to be given time to prove himself.
If history has show us anything, it's that a so called big name manager doesn't guarantee success!

Brummie, he has more than enough time between now and the end of the season to improve this team. So far he has shown nothing. It has to change or he needs to go and he doesn't need next season, he needs the remaining 17 PL games to show us if he is any good. All I want is a decent improvement and some feckin goals, not trophies or top4 not worried about that.
Yesterday didn't worried me too much in comparisons to other games this season, more positives than negatives. Against a team that wasn't as focussed & brilliantly coached we'd probably have nicked the win.
Silva & Badiashile look rock solid together, so once Kovacic and/or Zakaria come back allowing Enzo to be more offensive that's almost a complete spine I'm satisfied with. For the rest of this season I'd want both of them to allow Enzo to play as an #8 cos we need the creativity higher up the pitch for now, but longer term the plan should be finding the right partner for him in midfield so we can get away with a two - he looked so good, so complete as a midfield, that we could get away with it like we could with Kante for so many years.
Hoping once, just once, to see Fernandez & Kante together before he possibly parts ways with us. That's a two we could possibly get away with even vs. great teams

No where near enough time in my opinion.
5 months? Take the time out for the World Cup from that, walked into an injury disaster zone, only had James an Chilwell back for the 1st time yesterday, still hasn't had the luxury of having Kante yet.
Yesterday was the first time he's had the new January signings at his disposal - I could go on with the mitigation in his favour, it really is ridiculous!
The ridiclous number of new players in the squad, combined with shifting particularly no-one (so a fractious camp is inevitable), has got me sympathizing with Potter more now.
I'll give him a free pass this season but from next season onwards the pressure is back on & will escalate rapidly. Can't spend the money we have & settle for anything less than sustained, serious challenges on both the PL & CL from 2024/25 (allowing an extra year for the fact most of the signings are young).

Chelsea means different things to different people - personally I had much more fun following us around such places as York, Hereford, Oldham and Carlisle on open terraces, than I have now - I honestly feel blessed to have grown up in those days.
The coming of Roman was fun because it put so many noses out of joint and ruined the happy status quo of the red noses that thought they had carte blanche on the best players around.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
We will agree to disagree then , cause in my book he has more than enough time to make improvements in the remainder of the season. Not looing for trophies this season or next season but any decent manager should be able to impose his style and improve the team in a season given the squad we have.
This team wasn't crap last season, people seem to forget that.

How about the fact that for part of his tenure we have had up to 11 players injured. Three were key to our game in Chilwell, James and Kante?
