Honestly don't know what joy anyone would get out of winning a retrospective league title from 10 years ago.
I doubt they'll be stripped of their titles, but if they are (and tbh they unofficially have been in the minds of most) just declare no winner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that would be the best thing to do.

City should definitely stripped of them even if no winner is declared.

So there'll be a 10 year gap when it comes to a list of PL winners?
Would be a joke and would harm the credibility of this league IMO.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, no. As City haven't won it for 10 years straight
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They've won it 6 times I think, so the point still stands.

Don't see how the PL have a choice. Nobody is going to count them now in the club honours list. I'm certainly not.

So Liverpool's title win will not count then....because that was in that '10 year gap',is that what you are saying?
It doesn't really. If you're worried about credibility of the league I think that ship has sailed whether you declare a retrospective winner or not.
I have no problem with them doing so, as such. Would just feel a bit pointless and would rather they didn't.
People always say they remember the history books. No way City should be allowed to keep the titles if there is evidence they gained an unfair advantage.
The team that's 2nd are never remembered and if City stole that teams glory cheating, it should be altered.
Liverpool in particular had a few seasons where it was down to a point or two so def some merit in getting them changed. Problem lies in seasons City stormed it, how do you gauge how much of an advantage they had/how many points should be deducted for them seasons 🤔
Do the FA just take all the titles and make 2nd champions? There hasnt really been a precedent when so much money was on the line.
In July 2006, Juventus was stripped of the 2004–05 Serie A title, which was left unassigned, and was downgraded to last place in the 2005–06 Serie A as the title was subsequently awarded to Inter Milan...
City will have to pay all that winning bonus back too
Crazy that the last 5 straight champions will have a * next to their name
Kind of want City to win the league this season now. Will be pretty funny watching absolutely no one give a shīt.

Lance Armstrong has had his wins erased and rightly so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Runners up never received the yellow jersey though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah because the runner up was also caught doping I think or something like that. They left them blank in honour of all the doping that had taken place. For real.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
6/7 times for real?
man city have won 6 pls over the past decade+, so just strip away those titles, and the record books can just show asterisks next to 7 of the years

I don't think they should award 3 to Liverpool and 3 to United. They should declare them all null and void.
City shouldn't be allowed to keep those wins though as they are all tainted just like Lance Armstrong. They have to be stripped away.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet how is it fair to all who missed out due to financial cheating? Ole and Jose would be winners after all and go down as legends for you lot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s only for the period up to the 2018 season, so United would get 2x PL titles and Liverpool would get one.
Amusingly, the Agueroooo moment would be erased from the history books.

A league season cannot have no winners. That's ridiculous and unworkable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, really doesn't work. The record books will show no winner due to cheating but the teams that didn't cheat get punished anyway.
Who would get the six titles? Liverpool and man utd a couple each, what about the other two?
Ah Greta has answered my question.
It’s only up to 2018 because the investigation took four years. Surely they’ll now be looking into the next four?
