Although it’s hilarious it wasn’t given, you have to ask what the hell is the purpose of VAR?
Normally I would just laugh, but to be fair that decision was horrendous - reminds me of the one West Ham didn’t get at the bridge earlier in the season
I said handball in real time, then again on replay, and then jenas and co said pen…
Then the play continued…most baffling thing I’ve seen since the Pedro Mendes goal at old Trafford

We saw an equally bizarre var decision at OT just last week.
That was an amazing decision.
With the rise in AI we might get a computer making VAR decisions soon - will be a lot less bent
Shocking. Pathetic. Disgraceful.
Var is a joke
Even on naked eye and from a distance, it looked like a pen...so with camera angles that show close ups, makes you wonder what did the VAR officials, led by their boss who was at this game, saw not to give it?
Truely horrifying decision against Chelsea, and feel sorry for Potter in that he was denied a victory imo.
It does suit Spurs, the result though.
Even Rio who was over the moon it wasn’t given couldn’t believe it
Worst decision in a West Ham Chelsea game since... well the last one when West Ham were absolutely mugged of a clear and legit goal.
2me not as clear cut as uthers think butt probubbly shuddabeen given
Potter doesn't seem to fussed about it.
In post match interview he said on the decision "Win some lose some"
West Ham fans saying it's payback...has nothing to do with it.
Each incident is judged on it's own merits...The West Ham defender basically acted as GK making a save...
It's baffling.
And yes whats the point of VAR?
tbf they were following the rules, some silly rule about not handball if it hits the hand used to break a fall which you could argue was the case.
daft rule, only thing should be taken into consideration when you go to ground and it his your arm is proximity, if it hits your hand then well its the risk you take going to ground imo.
I'm not a fan of var, never have Bern and so far I have not seen anything to make me believe I ever will be but its here so we have to accept it.
Mind you with it it was 1 1, without it it could have been 2 3. Still plenty of reasons to whinge, just more entertaining potentially.

Exactly.
Was a blatant penalty.
VAR didn't even check the possible foul leading to the first goal, it could've gone either way but it wasn't even looked at.
Pawson is a shocking ref.

It looks more and more like the reason for VAR is to offer more game time for the non officiating refs. I do not know how they deemed that not to be a foul.
Could it be that our great friend Antony Taylor was the one responsible for that non decision?
I thought Potter saying it was a great save was funny.
Today just added another sorry sad excuse of a bad ref and VAR decision to the 100s there have already been since VAR was introduced. I'm sure there are a few Asian betting syndicates that love VAR though, most of us hate it!
Shocking decision. The view from behind the goal shows just how bad a call it was. Clealry uses his palm to block it.
The save of the season, says Robbie Earl !
Forget VAR, I dunno how the referee or one of the linesmen didn't see it? I'm sure they'll have been people on the opposite side of the stadium being partially blocked who'd have seen it.
No point getting worked up. You can only laugh when a decision is that bad
Terrible decision although I remember John Terry getting away with something worse back in the day so it's nice to see it come back around a bit
Not sure what the point of VAR is if it's not going to overturn such blatant decisions. Seems to be doing barely anything other than offsides.
Again the referees are showing how out of their depth they are, the tech itself is not the problem

They let VAR make decisions for them.
The “clear and obvious” thing has to be thrown out and focus on “importance” of decisions.
VAR also need access to all of the angles sky get access to.
