Lol

Cant u both play it?

If you stick it on ‘hard’, it’s actually a decent challenge in some parts.

It utilises the PS5’s Dualsense very well, which adds to the immersion, so hopefully none of that is lost on PC

Why does racial historical accuracy matter in a video game about an imaginary land with an imaginary school of magic and imaginary characters?

It's pure fantasy so it could be anything the creator wants it to be and you accept all these lies and strokes made up fr scratch in someone's imagination.

But when it to comes to skin colour you want historical accuracy?

Are the other controls ok on console? There’s a lot of hot keys!

Was tempted to get it for the Xbox.

My wife won't let me get it until she's played on it first 😂

My daughter is a huge Harry Potter fan. Grew up reading the books, and was so excited when she found out about this game. So excited in fact she got a PS5 to play it. Paid for early access and is loving the game.

It is not something I'm particularly interested in, But I have watched her play it, and you can tell it has been a labour of love for the developers and anyone who knows Harry Potter will not be disappointed.

Really want to play this game but don't want to fork out for a ps5

Will it do on the PS4?

posted on 11/2/23

It is available for the PS4, but obviously the PS5 will offer the best experience. Graphics, loads times, and framerate. Which is why my daughter bought a PS5

But I understand buying a PS5 for one game would be an indulgence, and I'm sure the PS4 version will still be well worth playing.

I think you’ve missed the discourse surrounding the game. My issue is not with including racial, gender, and sexual diversity in a made-up world, my issue is the genesis of the game developer’s coercion into this choice (which contradicts the world in the source material upon which it is founded).

I don’t think it’s out for PS4/last gen Xbox/Switch yet - I think I heard April or something for last gen consoles & June being touted for switch, or something like that.

I’ve no idea how they’ll manage to make it run smoothly, particularly on switch. I’d be wary of another Cyber Punk fiasco

There must be twenty-odd spells and four spell wheels (each of four) to fill. I’ve organised mine such that I have one for combat, one for exploration, and then two I fill with whatever crap I don’t regularly use.

The spells have a cool down period, so I’m sure you could use all sixteen in a combat scenario by swapping spell wheels mid-fight and avoid having to wait for them to recharge, but that’s far too much flicking for me - I just stick to the one wheel and pepper them with a bit of “basic casting”, which is unlimited. That pause whilst you wait also allows you to time some parries and rolls, which I’m particularly fond of due to the games I usually play (FromSoft, God of War, sort of thing)

Didn't realise this but you are correct, the game doesn't come to PS4 till April 4th. I'm sure it will run on PS4, but it will be obviously come at a cost.

Yes you can. It is a fair shout. Trade in the PS4 to offset the cost of the PS5. Still able to play all your PS4 games, and able to enjoy all the next gen goodness.

They were, but apparently are easily available these days. Certainly not the shortages there used to be.

From what I’ve seen the travelling around, scenery and worlds look brilliant, interaction and scenes with characters up close look pretty poor though. Combat looks okay. Going to pick it up just for the nostalgia of the movie world and books as a kid.

Trading in the PS4 doesn't seem a bad shout tbh. I haven't played on it in years.

Been a great play so far, it's not quite Red Dead good, but Hogwarts is incredibly well done and the combat system is one of the better ones I've played in a game. Really feel funs pinging spells around.

Recommend anyone playing/ about to play gives the below a watch - for a couple of things, I shamefully got about ten hours in, all the while none the wiser, until watching.
