Its an interesting one. Firstly I was surprised Rangers kicked it out to get treatment, we supposedly wrote to all clubs to say we wouldn't be kicking the ball out for injuries and would allow the referee to stop it. Presumably because of the potential for incidents like this.

However having done so I'm not sure Tillman did much wrong. By all accounts he was still down injured from the foul on him when Colak knocked it out so wasn't aware Thistle were going to kick it back. But either way its not like Rangers took a throw and didn't give Thistle the ball back. They took the throw unchallenged, Holt takes a touch, then goes to take another one and then he's dispossessed.

On balance I'm pleased we took the action we did as its not a way to win a game against a team a league below us. However why does any team need to retreat and accept the ball back in the corner flag or near their goalkeeper when that kind of thing happens? With a spot of time wasting thrown in. Why is it perceived that the team who gives up possession in that circumstance has to wait for the opponent to dictate how and when they receive it back?

The boy slips, Tillman takes possession and still has about 30 yards at an angle to run in on goal and beat the keeper before scoring. As I say probably the best way to manage the situation but in another game I'd probably be upset if we gave up our advantage in that kind of circumstance.

I saw zero of the game but one boy in the pub is gibbering on about Rangers pen being outside the box?(not saying it would have made any difference to the result)

Did not see it so no idea, was it? He's a bit of an erse and a Jambo to boot so pinch of salt needed?

I’m 99% sure the ref whistled before the ball crossed the line so it shouldn’t even have been a throw in. Shambles all round if true.
