With Rodrigo these last three games I firmly believe our points haul would have been at least 4 better.
For all he can flourish against lower league opposition, Bamford can no longer be relied upon for goals at this level. Rutter is being written off already, may I suggest the lad is given a,little more time for goodness sake. He's very ungainly which doesn't help but he needs our support.
I hope Gnonto & Summerville have their shooting boots on for Everton & Southampton.
Some people in here used to voice trying opinions on Crysencio Summerville.
Now we already see the same observations about Rutter/ Give the kid a break. At 20, the price tag weighs down and there is often a tend and to try too hard.
He needs time to settle.
Notice how much a £4m price tag weighed less on Gnoto’s shoulders.
No one ha written Rutter off that I have seen.
This is what I wrote:
"I dont think Rutter is a front man and I hate to say it, but, I dont see any signs that he will realise the potential of being our most expensive signing so far."
If you can point me to some signs to the contrary in our matches please do.
Yesterday Bamford, pressed, tried to get involved, Sara. lot of the ball, won free kicks, Rutter looked to stand off a lot and was nowhere near being a centre forward, doesnt look like a front man to me which is what I thought he was supposed to be?
Got to agree with Jonty.
Nobody has written him off.
But people are allowed to have a opinion on him.
For £35m, (Huge money for a young 20 year old) he has shown absolutely nothing.
Got a funny running style
Isnt ATM a uptop striker
Isnt fit enough
He will need time and hopefully he will come good.
You can look at a player and within 5 mins, think this kid really has something.
I havent felt that with him
Skubala hasn't done that bad. We were beaten by better quality overall yesterday and didn't take our chances when Maguire kept giving us the ball.
Harrison ran around but couldn't get through or passed to them - turning into Aaronson if he's not careful.
Wilf was held very close on the left and didn't have a great impact.
Most opporrunities came on the right with Cry but final bit was not there.
Defence looks improved with Wober and even Firpo did ok. Bill had a good game.
We were ok for 75 minutes then Manu took their chances.
Have to agree 4 points minimum in the next 2 games or its probably planning for the drop.
Never heard of this Alfred guy and the whole Manager episode is becoming a bit silly.
...Sorry Rutter needs time but the price tag looks too high.
Adams and McKennie were really good.
It’s not controversial to say that Rutter has shown next to nothing to far to justify a £30+m price tag.
As for the likely decision by our board (😂) to appoint that ex-Ajax buffoon, may God have mercy on our souls😇

Wilko, are we being honest with ourselves here? We kept them out for 75 minutes but how often did you see us construct sequences of passing and possession? Far too often , we kicked the ball upfield when under pressure, or gave it away. Have a look at the figures in the passing (p) column to get an idea of what I mean:

Tyler completed most passes for us - 30.
There are 8 Man U players who exceeded that number, Including Magure with 126. Completed passes mean possession retained. They far exceeded our ball retention.
I blame Marsch-ball for this, the idea that not being in possession is somehow ok. In the Premier League, as we know well, a goal can come from anywhere at any time, but if you keep possession, your team is more likely to be the one who scores.
Marscian, don't disagree with anything your saying , just felt overall we were beaten by better quality - the difference between a team near the bottom and the form team in the PL. New additions are ok but need time to adjust to this league - but we haven't got it.
One caveat - seem to remember a lot of their passes were within 30 yards of De Gea.
Some truths about Rutter from you guys, but some nonsense in terms of conclusions. Has to be given time. Granted, time we don’t really have but not his fault we are a shambles at the moment
I think the main issue is from what we have seen so far Rutter looks more like a winger than an out and out striker. Problem is we desperately needed an out and striker.
A LB and a striker was a priority yet it seems we have signed neither.
Problem with Mckennie and Adams in CM we never really have control of possession. I would play a midfield three of Roca, Adams and Mckennie further forward.
Mentioned this during Accy game - I thought Mckennie was brought in to make up a triumvirate of Roca, Adams and Mckennie - I really do think it could be be key to us getting out of this mess.

Their best chance was when they hit the bar. until they scored of course. I actually think we were the better team until then despite their possession which was kind of misleading. My point is that both games we weren't badly out played or outplayed at all.
Thats something to take away from two games against a team 13 or 14 places above us.
I’ll remember that when we are relegated, Mont

Their possession was pretty meaningless for 80 minutes. All in their own half without much threat at all.
The game changed when we made our subs. Bamford and Harrison were badly missed when they went off.
If stats won games we would have won that one. More shots. More on target. More touches in the opposition box. More corners. So we did more with our possession and our Xg was higher.
Shame they won the one stat that really mattered though.

Tyler completed most passes for us - 30.
There are 8 Man U players who exceeded that number, Including Magure with 126. Completed passes mean possession retained. They far exceeded our ball retention.
I blame Marsch-ball for this, the idea that not being in possession is somehow ok. In the Premier League, as we know well, a goal can come from anywhere at any time, but if you keep possession, your team is more likely to be the one who scores.

completely disagree with this and its why I dont look at stats
Blockhead, just passed it around back and then gave it away, if he tried to pass forward. Terrible performance.
Think the tactics were spot on, just didnt score.
we didnt want to be hit on the break all the time,

This. and if summerville had scored from his early chance we might have had a different outcome.

And if Bruno or Dalit had scored from their chances, we would be talking about a different outcome too. The stats are all about possession. It doesn’t matter which half it is in, but it shows, at the least, that Man U controlled much more of the game than we did. The eye-test simply tells us they were better than us.

Their best chance was when they hit the bar. until they scored of course. I actually think we were the better team until then despite their possession which was kind of misleading. My point is that both games we weren't badly out played or outplayed at all.
Thats something to take away from two games against a team 13 or 14 places above us.
