Elon Musk owning United would be utterly bonkers and a real rollercoaster ride but I'd still rather see that than Qatar or Saudis personally.
Sad to see so many united fans twerking for that oil / gas cash. The morals and ideals of those countries do not align with this great club at all.
Tesla being our primary sponsor and maybe even all over a new state of the art 90,000 seater stadium wouldn't be the worst thing. Much better than VisitQATAR.com everywhere.

and yes they funded his earlier projects , including massively funding him in his early days.
yes he earned a $hit load after this but he was born into wealth, if he hadnt lifted a finger his whole life he would still be very wealthy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No he wouldn't. His dad lost all his money in the 90s and he and his brother supported him since. Or at least they did for a long time. I think that have fallen out in recent yearss.
I am sure that I read he wealth has been built from a loan his dad gave him in the 80s of about £28,000.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he 100% was born into this world with millionaire parents. parents who owned emerald mines, had private airplanes etc.
In an article I read ages ago:
Musk himself described his childhood when saying that they couldnt even close the safe at home due to it being too full and talks about going to school with several huge emeralds in his pocket.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is fake news. Musk has talked in the past about how the stories about his dad owning an emerald mine are rubbish. He has even address it on his Twitter account. And old college mates have spoken about how skint he was.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
no wonder.. owning an emerald mine and the practices and the conditions the workers faced means that not many people wanna admit to owning them !!!! dont tell me you dont know this?!
his mother was a famous model one of the most famous, they were loaded before he was born ..... he went to private school, their parents funded all their kids who are now all loaded in their own right.
his mother is still worth over 20m
----------------------------------------------------------------------
She might be worth over 20m now - but this is nearly 20 years later. She wasn't worth that much back then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
she was one of South Africa's top models.
I think I will believe the articles and the people themselves saying the things I have said over "Elvis"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like Musk saying that his dad didn't own an emerald mine and that ne started his first business with $2,500?

Surely Musk would only use it the same way he uses all his products for though?? to boost his own profile and to further fund future projects and his other projects dont leave Tesla fairing as well as they would without it thats for sure !! he has taken A LOT of money out tesla in recent years to pump into other projects.

Either way - his wealth is self built. He wasn't given a billion pounds. He wasn't even a billionaire until circa 2012 and how he is worth about 200 billion.

his dad gifted him 28k to fund his first project that he then sold for millions, then used this money to either help buy into Paypal or help found it or something i cant remember exactly.
he was born into a family that were millionaires. deal with it . they were rich enough to gift out things like 28k to their kids.
Yes Elon has vastly added to that wealth but he was born into it.

Either way - his wealth is self built. He wasn't given a billion pounds. He wasn't even a billionaire until circa 2012 and how he is worth about 200 billion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
his dad gifted him 28k to fund his first project that he then sold for millions, then used this money to either help buy into Paypal or help found it or something i cant remember exactly.
he was born into a family that were millionaires. deal with it . they were rich enough to gift out things like 28k to their kids.
Yes Elon has vastly added to that wealth but he was born into it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So your initial statement that he didn't build his wealth was incorrect.

I'd be all for it personally.
If you could choose any of the global tech / car giants then Tesla would be one of the best to have.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you know how he runs his companies? Tighter than the most stingiest owners.
A lot of my mates are Tesla, SpaceX employees and they can't wait to fackk off from there once their company stock options expire.
Imagine someone worse than Glazers operating United.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We make enough money to compete though. He wouldn't need to pump in anything or the team.
Imagine what we spend now plus not having to finance a huge Glazer debt. We'd be golden.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
DId Musk use his own money to buy twitter ??? ......
it will be purchased as debt same way he has done with his other purchases by borrowing it. he borrowed around 11bn to purchase twitter he didnt use a lot of his own money to buy it.

and yes they funded his earlier projects , including massively funding him in his early days.
yes he earned a $hit load after this but he was born into wealth, if he hadnt lifted a finger his whole life he would still be very wealthy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
like I said if you dont understand why someone wouldnt wanna admit to owning an emerald mine back then in this day in age only shows how niave you are.
However in the past Musks own father and the person who owned it has confirmed that he did, plenty others have confirmed it as far as I can see only Elon denies it?
Like I said why would Elon not want to link himself with a emerald mine ownership in the 80's .... gee I wonder why, I wonder why one of the most wealthy and one of the publics most prominent figures wouldnt want to be linked to the practices used in the emerald mines back in the day.
ps Musk also denies that his dad gave him the 28k to fuind Zip2, but you already confirmed that his dad gave him it. Which kinda sours you using him a source for his dad not owning it ......shame

As long as there's nothing leveraged against the club then I'd be happy.

^ This is one of the most ridiculous semantic arguments I’ve ever read on JA606, and that’s saying something
Musk was born into riches, and he has taken the wealth he was furnished with (already more than 99% of the world’s population will see in their lifetimes), and multiplied it many times. Can we all agree on that?
(He’s done that, by the way, by buying his way up the corporate ladder, by suing his business partners and stabbing them in the back, by overworking and exploiting staff repeatedly breaking labour protection legislation in doing so, by leveraging huge government loans and stimulus payments without which Tesla, for one, wouldn’t exist, and by avoiding paying tax. Basically the same way nearly all wealthy people become multibillionaires. Like the rest of them, he’s a grade A caaaaaaant.)

he didnt build his wealth, he was born into riches

I don't believe that he was a billionaire until 2012? And he is now worth about 200 billion. If he didn't build his wealth, was it just given to him then?

you dont have to be a billionaire to be rich, his parents were millionaires before he was born.
he was born into wealth
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say you have to be a billionaire to be rich. But there is no denying that he has built his wealth and made himself a billionaire many many times over.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine how good the internet and mobile reception would be at OT?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd be all for it personally.
If you could choose any of the global tech / car giants then Tesla would be one of the best to have.

Surely Musk would only use it the same way he uses all his products for though?? to boost his own profile and to further fund future projects and his other projects dont leave Tesla fairing as well as they would without it thats for sure !! he has taken A LOT of money out tesla in recent years to pump into other projects.

and yes they funded his earlier projects , including massively funding him in his early days.
yes he earned a $hit load after this but he was born into wealth, if he hadnt lifted a finger his whole life he would still be very wealthy.

Nah. I think the 28k was for a later venture if I recall correctly. Was it the payment thing that became paypal? Can't quite remember now.
Either way - his wealth is self built. He wasn't given a billion pounds. He wasn't even a billionaire until circa 2012 and how he is worth about 200 billion.

Like Musk saying that his dad didn't own an emerald mine and that ne started his first business with $2,500?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he was born into wealth, he was already wealthy beofre he earned a penny. you cant build your wealth if you already have it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine how good the internet and mobile reception would be at OT?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd be all for it personally.
If you could choose any of the global tech / car giants then Tesla would be one of the best to have.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Isn't that that how most big money deals are done though?
As long as there's nothing leveraged against the club then I'd be happy.
Some of our fans have it in their heads now though that without oil money we're finished. It's simply not true.

ofcourse it is , im not criticising it , im saying that if you think you wouldnt be still servicing debt if he bought it over your wrong, you would be replacing glazer debt with Musk debt

and yes they funded his earlier projects , including massively funding him in his early days.
yes he earned a $hit load after this but he was born into wealth, if he hadnt lifted a finger his whole life he would still be very wealthy.

People like you deserve Glazer ownership.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, who needs businessmen when you can have despot dictator?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All Billionaires have built their wealth on the bones of the common.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who has Musk killed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he didnt build his wealth, he was born into riches
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't believe that he was a billionaire until 2012? And he is now worth about 200 billion. If he didn't build his wealth, was it just given to him then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you dont have to be a billionaire to be rich, his parents were millionaires before he was born.
he was born into wealth
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say you have to be a billionaire to be rich. But there is no denying that he has built his wealth and made himself a billionaire many many times over.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Helps when your daddy gives you an apartheid era emerald mine.
Tesla benefit immensely from child labour in the Congo
