The fact opposition fans are trying to play down the Ten Hag affect makes it even sweeter! They know we are on our way back and they hate it

Absolutely. It's great isn't it? 😁
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. It actually grates on them, physically hurts them

Thomas Tuche (49 y/o):

Ligue 1: 2018–19, 2019–20
Coupe de France: 2019–20
Coupe de la Ligue: 2019–20
Trophée des Champions: 2018, 2019
UEFA Champions League: 2020–21
UEFA Super Cup: 2021
FIFA Club World Cup: 2021

Antonio Conte (53 y/o):

Serie A: 2011–12, 2012–13, 2013–14, 2020-2021
Supercoppa Italiana: 2012, 2013
Premier League: 2016–17
FA Cup: 2017–18

Ten Hag (53y/o):

Eredivisie: 2018–19, 2020–21, 2021–22
KNVB Cup: 2018–19, 2020–21
Johan Cruyff Shield: 2019
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ten Hag has been managing since 2012, Tuchel since 2007 and Conte since 2005.

Their age is irrelevant.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My comment was a response to suggesting there is 'no contest' between Tuchel, Conte and Ten Hag. Ten Hag is on top today, his team are doing the business whereas the former two are having low ebbs in their careers. This estimation is subject to rapid change though. The records of Tuchel and Conte are prestigious enough to not dismiss them like that, in my opinion.

Their ages being similar suggests they have a similar number of potential years left in the tank which is another potential part of the value calculation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't speak for the up, but from my perspective, there was no contest between the mangers because I wanted one that would come in for the long term. Conte and Tuchel don't tend to stick around for long. I think that if things go well with ETH that we may get a decade out of him.

Fair enough. I can't imagine having a manager for over 3 years

This. Tuchel and Conte also don't play great football. Tuchel is also more of a cup manager. His pragmatic style lends it self well to getting through cup ties but other than PSG he's never won a league.

Yes some will argue ETH has only ever won leagues at Ajax but winning a league with PSG's resources combined with limited competition is far easier than winning 4 on the bounce with Ajax.

Couldn’t be happier but won’t get carried away. We’ve seen how quickly things can turn. Look at the start OGS had, we were ecstatic.

Saying that, our CB partnership and midfield potential is better than anything we’ve had since Fergie left.

I think Ole was stumbling towards good results, more luck than tactics, you never looked like you were going to win as much as you did and many wins were achieved with poor play and weird tactics. After the 13 match run it pretty much dried up and Ole could not get you out of a hole. ETH is on a completely different level than Ole and I doubt your results will falter quickly. He has turned it around quicker than Klopp did. He has a history of being a good tactical coach from his Utrecht and Ajax days, and now United. Probably could be a Klopp or Pep mkII.

Conte very underwhelming to be honest. Everyone can win the Italian league with Juve cheats.

Ajax have fallen apart without him as well.

They lost Overmars which has completely facked up their transfer business and hiring business. Their biggest mistake was hiring Schreuder ffs

Pretty much all the league titles won by all 3 were won by the dominant club in the division.

This is all we've wanted for so long.

A competent manager who will drop underperformers, get rid of trouble makers and play attacking football.

I don't want to get in to the nonsense that was Jose/Ole's reign. It's just good to have a forward thinking modern coach.

Whether we win anything or not this season, doesn't matter. He knows what's he's doing and I am confident we will win trophies under him.

Whilst I do think we ‘are back’, I’m going to err slightly with caution and reserve a bit of judgement for next season, remembering that run ole had when he became coach.

I don't suppose he will equal Fergies record, but I think he will have one of his own nearly as good.
