Same as Conte's, Mourinho's, Nuno's, Jol's, Redknapp's, Sherwood's, Villas-Boas'... All the more reason why it's not a fair stick to beat him with
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So why go back to a failure then? His tenure was just as big of failure and he had more time.
But the minnions will always give you a million excuses Z z z
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How was his tenure just as big a failure? He had us become a regular CL team, got us to a CL final and saw us reach levels of quality in the PL we had never seen before. Compare this to King Jose who came with the reputation of being a proven winner who had won trophies at every club he'd been at, and he failed to get top 4 two times of asking and couldn't win us a trophy.
Strange point of view.

The way these things have always worked, particularly at Spurs, is that a manager comes on board, does well, and any friction that occurs means that the Sporting Director is shown the door before the manager. That might not be the right way around but it is the way Levy has acted in the past.
Also you have to factor in that Paratici's control and trust will be depleted in recent months. Corruption and overpaying for Romero to do his mates at Juve a favour will not play well with King Levy. If Pochettino comes in, he'll unquestionably have more power than FP. I can see FP being forced out eventually and replaced by someone who can work more harmoniously with a front foot coach.

this is a skewed view about Poch not winning any trophies but ignoring the giant leap that happened under Poch where Spurs went from an average meh side to an exciting outfit that challenged for the titles and it was in top 3 for 3/4 seasons in a row. These achievements propelled the club to where it is now, with a money making stadium and audience.
For Spurs, that's as good as winning a trophy because it allowed the management to size up the scope of how much money will come through the entertainment whether TV, or otherwise.
Yet all these talk about Poch coming back are irrational. WHy would Poch come back somewhere he was neither backed, respected nor given credit by Levy. Instead fans went against Poch just after CL final blaming him for selecting an unfit Kane. The same fickle fans want him back now.
What is to say these fans who were impatient with a host of managers, including temp home grown one, would they support him if in his first season, hypothetically, he doesn't get us CL or trophy?

He might have done better at certain stages but the praise should always outweigh the criticism when it comes to Poch for any true Spurs fan, and the things he got wrong can be countered with issues that came from above him.
If fans are knocking him for his lack of silverware, then hell, why not just demand we get Ramos back?

I think probably he will just beat Poch with the no trophy stick, even before the season is finished. If Poch can somehow win us a trophy, Sandy's body will melt like a wicked witch.

exactly how I feel Spurtle
Couldn't believe those years with Poch I got so used us being not top 4 side backend then with Poch, not only we started to smash a few myths but we played some superb football too
Then we lose a CL final and some on here turned against Poch
Too many negative comments and feelings for him, to be considering us again.
You can't undo those comments by some fans, even boos in terraces...I would love to him back, but I think if he were to turn us down, it would be what we deserve.

Surely that's not the debate, though - Poch vs other previous managers. If we're seriously considering Poch it should be him vs someone similar to who he was when we hired him. Someone like Frank who's got a PL team overperforming and playing decent football
I can’t believe the negativity around Poch coming back from a few posters ….it’s staggering
Why he is being judged on a few games (yes some big moments) but what he delivered for most of his tenure is forgotten (yes the end was bad but it was obvious he was so fed up)
I think if he is appointed in the next week or so the new manager bounce and feel good factor could be top 4 ….it’s not the be all and end all and we all want a trophy but it’s what’s left this season (we aren’t winning the champs league) but if the current set up continues top 4 isn’t happening
Yeah it could all go to shat or it could be great again but right now it’s going to shat anyway
Right now I don’t know what we need but I do know it isn’t conte and I’m willing to back someone who transformed us once to see if he can do it again

----------------------------------------------------------------------
this is a skewed view about Poch not winning any trophies but ignoring the giant leap that happened under Poch where Spurs went from an average meh side to an exciting outfit that challenged for the titles and it was in top 3 for 3/4 seasons in a row.
Our fans love to argue and love to think they are the best managers yet to be appointed by the club
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch did such a good job he's made some fans forget that we weren't this consistent top 4 and CL competing side before he came in it seems.
He might have done better at certain stages but the praise should always outweigh the criticism when it comes to Poch for any true Spurs fan, and the things he got wrong can be countered with issues that came from above him.
If fans are knocking him for his lack of silverware, then hell, why not just demand we get Ramos back?

Not really. I will always back the manager no matter who he is. Of course he wants the job. But I wonder if he wants it too much and that may cost him.

He'll come out with some crazy angle to somehow deflect from his history of anti Poch sentiments.

Hibernating. He does this occasionally to protect his ego, forms a chrysalis and comes back as an ugly moth that slams himself repeatedly into a metaphorical lightbulb.

Yep. Hibernates for a few weeks and when nobody is talking about him, then creates a few sock accounts conveniently mentioning Sandy, but at same time saying “I’m not him” despite user created 1 hour before
