Ok I read it back. Who's the victim of his tweets?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The general public who are being gaslighted into believing he's got the Countries best interests at heart rather than his own celebrity status.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that's wildly inaccurate. His tweets are very overtly aimed at the government.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His tweets are aimed at getting him attention. Keep gaslighting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're using that incorrectly. It's hurting your point now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Still doing it. Trying to convince me that a two line tweet was a well measured response to a serious situation and wasn't just an irresponsible knee jerk reaction from an attention seeker.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not doing anything aside from pointing out that you're really bad at making a very weak point seem credible
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're trying to convince me that someone using these situations to boost their own celebrity status is not preventing people who could actually make a difference from having an impact.

I don’t think this is about immigration for them, when it gets blocked in the courts they’ll go after ECHR. They want to uncouple Britain from institutions that protect the rights of their citizens. They’ve been pretty brazen about this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've mentioned it before but the Spanish took their case regarding immigrants climbing the fence into Melilla to the highest European court and won. Anyone caught entering this way gets deported back out the next day. Don't hear much about it though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are Spain breaking international law by refusing safe legal routes to apply for asylum?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And more to the point, what happened to the girl who said she's Madeline McCann?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Parents said she was theirs and had mental issues afaik?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I was just being silly but that seemed the likely outcome all along
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah!
I became aware that numerous 'pateras' of immigrants were also making their way the longer distance to the Canaries so looked into what Spain do cos there's not much infrastructure on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura to deal with numbers.
Spain has tried and occasionally successful in deals with Morroco to take them all back. But that led to the Melilla situation story and the court win. It is my understanding but all we hear here is nasty UK gov.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s because we turned down the option of having processing centres in France so it’s a non comparable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah, glad you know all about it. How many processing centres does Spain have in Morocco?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They share a land border….
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That wasn't the question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s the answer though unless you’re being really stupid!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The French don't want UK asylum processing centres in France either!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes they did, they offered and wanted it at their ports.

There are no workings, forget the fact it's morally wrong and look at just two things...
1st. Where do you thing we will send them to? Presently there are no countries who both could and would accept them.
2nd. In British law all individuals have the right to be judged separately, there are no exceptions. You can't get 50 rioters/football hooligans together in a court and convict them all at once. To try to change that is a huge and probably insurmountable obstacle; the legal system will fight the government every inch of the way.

Somewhat peculiar the BBC allowed Lineker to platform his non football related views (unsanctioned) on Qatar human rights abuses etc during his live opening monologue of the BBCs broadcast of the World Cup.
But they're not happy with his criticism of tory party policy.
Could it be something to do with the BBC hierarchy having close ties to the Tories

UK government's choice to remove itself from the Dublin3 regulation absolved France of treaty commitments to the UK. And France aren't exactly jumping through hoops to help out, as they're no longer obliged to do so.

How much of these (often fake) illegal crossings are operated by profiteering criminal gangs and is it morally correct to encourage that?
On a factual non biased point.
I know someone extremely high up in the BBC.
They do find Lineker's behaviour embarrassing and annoying.
If he was employed by the News department they would be a sackable offence, but he isn't.
They have looked at the whole "Bringing the company into disrepute" that we all have. But they decided that would just open a giant oil drum of worms and they didn't want to do that.

I don’t think this is about immigration for them, when it gets blocked in the courts they’ll go after ECHR. They want to uncouple Britain from institutions that protect the rights of their citizens. They’ve been pretty brazen about this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've mentioned it before but the Spanish took their case regarding immigrants climbing the fence into Melilla to the highest European court and won. Anyone caught entering this way gets deported back out the next day. Don't hear much about it though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are Spain breaking international law by refusing safe legal routes to apply for asylum?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And more to the point, what happened to the girl who said she's Madeline McCann?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Parents said she was theirs and had mental issues afaik?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I was just being silly but that seemed the likely outcome all along
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah!
I became aware that numerous 'pateras' of immigrants were also making their way the longer distance to the Canaries so looked into what Spain do cos there's not much infrastructure on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura to deal with numbers.
Spain has tried and occasionally successful in deals with Morroco to take them all back. But that led to the Melilla situation story and the court win. It is my understanding but all we hear here is nasty UK gov.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s because we turned down the option of having processing centres in France so it’s a non comparable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah, glad you know all about it. How many processing centres does Spain have in Morocco?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They share a land border….
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That wasn't the question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s the answer though unless you’re being really stupid!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The French don't want UK asylum processing centres in France either!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes they did, they offered and wanted it at their ports.

Ok I read it back. Who's the victim of his tweets?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The general public who are being gaslighted into believing he's got the Countries best interests at heart rather than his own celebrity status.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that's wildly inaccurate. His tweets are very overtly aimed at the government.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His tweets are aimed at getting him attention. Keep gaslighting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're using that incorrectly. It's hurting your point now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Still doing it. Trying to convince me that a two line tweet was a well measured response to a serious situation and wasn't just an irresponsible knee jerk reaction from an attention seeker.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not doing anything aside from pointing out that you're really bad at making a very weak point seem credible
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're trying to convince me that someone using these situations to boost their own celebrity status is not preventing people who could actually make a difference from having an impact.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not trying to convince you at all. I'm laughing at you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like I say you find it funny that people are suffering
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only person suffering here is you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
By the way, that's actual gaslighting. Thanks for providing a good example for the readers

Paris is clear that it does not want an asylum application centre on its soil. Such a processing centre “would create a huge pull factor to France”, said one government official. Other nations and territories have also expressed reluctance to participate.

Another own goal for Johnson's government.

He's playing a pretty clever game, it seems to me. He knows he's got broad general support and rarely if ever crosses a line beyond giving his opinion.
I don't follow him or think his opinion is important, but I do think it's important that voices like his exist.
