It could coincide with Martial coming back upfront and Rashy on the left so we might get away with it. All depends on whether Mr Glass can stay fit for 6 weeks.

That is a real shame for the lad and for us. But as you say, it might give Pellistri more of a chance to get some minutes and prove his worth.

Problem is that Pellistri’s been playing on the right so it’s not going to make a big difference to him getting games.

Martial needs to stay fit and Sancho needs to pull his finger out.

Won't hold my breath re. Martial, but we've been a lot more cautious about bringing him back this time than previously in the season. He's actually been doing work on the pitch for a while - fingers crossed it makes some difference.

Sancho could play on the left, leaving Pellistri as backup to Antony on the right. The way Pellisti plays, taking opponents on down both sides, I suspect he would do ok on the left anyway.

Fk that’s not good news.

Yeh I read that we aren't rushing him back and are taking a similar approach to what we did with Sancho.

But it still relies on ETH having trust in Pellistri, which helps yet to show. So ultimately it’s not really a chance to prove himself given he’s not played on the left and that ETH will have to change his preferences for the right wing.

It's frustrating how rarely we are able to have even 5 of our 5 forwards fit at the same time. Being able to bring two of them off the bench would be really beneficial.

Pellistri looked exremetly lightweight when he came on against Southampton, granted it wasn't an easy situation to come into the team.

Time for Sacho to step up to be honest, we totally carried him after the red card, seemingly a total lack of confidence or effort from him.

He trusted him enough to bring him on in a game when we were down to 10 men. He has been in and around the first team squad in recent weeks and ETH has praised him on a couple of occasions.

With Sancho possibly being used on the left (and perhaps AM also), that may give Pellistri more minutes. It will be as backup to Antony. Or perhaps coming off the bench on the left if/when Rashford is pushed central.

I don’t think a few minutes as a sub is trust. Ultimately it won’t have a significant impact on Pellistri getting the chance to prove himself.

You have no idea if that is the case. Neither of us do.

But whatever, I’m more concerned by Garnacho being out as he’s had a lot of impact from the bench for us and is an option to start games. We’re so thin in attack right now.

Not sure why people are suggesting Sancho will play left now, Weggy isn't going anywhere.

6 weeks! That's means probably 9 or 10 with our medical team!

I think it is more when ETH pushes Rashford central and takes Weggy off. Without Garnacho to come off the bench, ETH will have to look elsewhere - which will likely mean Sancho. It will depend on whether Martial actually plays for us again though.

Antony also popped up a bit on the left, so that could be an option.

It would be just like him to stay fit for the rest of the season, absolutely smash it, get a contract extension and then get injured on August 1st.

We should have signed two attackers instead of one Antony.
