Well this is all well and good but he mostly gave the balm away or put snow on the ball at set prices so why are you shocked he also defending poorly showing the guy who wanted to come in on his left that exact option all night.

Trent showed nothing. You can just say Konate kept Vinicius quiet actually. After realizing how fast Ibou is, Vini didn’t fancy it with him. The one time Trent had to mark him, he left him for dead.
Klopp is fast becoming Wenger mark II. He has a blind loyalty for certain players which is damaging our season. I guess there is also the problem of who plays at right back if not TAA to be fair. Pretty thin squad in that area.
You could clearly see Trent was instructed to be the third midfielder due to our tactics/structure
I've always said Trent is in his best position for the qualities he possesses as a footballer but If Klopp wants to continue with Trent in his current role then we need someone more mobile than 'The Lighthouse' in midfield
Remember when I used to say this years ago and you strongly disagreed?
Personally I feel the system hangs Trent out to dry but I've always wanted him in midfield regardless.

I have asked this a few times. I understand that he played there as a kid? My opinion is that he would be better suited to a CM role alongside someone with defensive discipline. He has got good range of passing and can get about the pitch. With your midfield looking weak, surely now is the time to give him a try there?

Anyone who has eyes and watched football inthe last 5/6 years will have seen robbo and trent have been amongst the best if not the best fullbacks in world football. Even revolutionised the posiion ffs.
MANY many pundits have stated so even ur own club legend and fullback gary neville, go ask him. So this only scousers stuff is clear nonsense.
You've got to be a bit of a clown to say the fullbacks that were part of a defence where the keeper was getting golden gloves but we're also posting never seen before assist stats weren't amoung the best in the world really haven't you.
Gary Neville hails Liverpool defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson as the best full-backs in Premier League HISTORY as he draws comparison to Brazilian legends Cafu and Roberto Carlos
Former United defender Neville believes that the Liverpool full-backs deserve to be mentioned alongside Brazil legends Roberto Carlos and Cafu.
Speaking on his Sky Sports podcast, Neville said: 'Sometimes, during a game, you have to check yourself when you're involved in an emotional game like this as a co-commentator or commentator, you're mentioning them in the same breath as probably the two greatest full-backs I've ever seen, Roberto Carlos and Cafu.
'For so many years they were the shining example. They transformed full-back play. I know there had been attacking full-backs before, the Liverpool teams of the 70s, but when you think of them as being an attacker first, defender second, contributing to free-kicks, attacks, crosses, every part of the game. They made full-backs a prominent part of the team.
'They were exceptional, but these two... I don't think I've seen two full-backs play in the Premier League that are as good as these two as a pair. The way in which they combine on the pitch, the way they play the game, they're an absolute joy.'
From one of his clubs biggest legends who played the position himself. One of the most respected fullbacks around.

This is where Klopp pointed out earlier in the season that we weren't playing as a team. We still aren't
If Trent steps into midfield, he is basically taking over the responsibilities of one of the 3 or 2 midfielders. To ensure the team is not open to counters or to ensure that we are in position to counter press, you would assume that one of the midfielders, ideally your CDM would hold their position to cover for Trent and one other can hold the midfield with Trent as well. Also your CB should be able to cross over and cover that side as well. Obviously stuff like this never works 100% of the time but you get the gist.
But Klopp always says, he rather take the risk and play to our strengths more than he will hold us back to counter the opposition. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
You only have to look at the highline last season to see how everyone berated it even though we knew that all those chances they pointed out were actually offside.
We all thought the next step was to make the midfield more attack minded which is what we have been trying...but as can be seen it comes at the expense of us being more open. Now it's all about finding the balance.
Fabinho has been letting us down big time this season. Worse than Henderson tbh. We need 3 midfielders but 2 absolute quality midfielders can make a big difference.
In a perfect world I'd take Caicedo and Guimaraes before Bellingham and some lowkey signings

I agree that Klopp has tried to evolve but the players have not responded. One of the reasons why Benzema was left on his own for the goal was because Konate was probably told to double up on Vini to help Trent and that left a gaping gap between him and VVD.
Because Trent is a liability defensively so much of the well oiled machine has to overwork in other areas.
