We knew what we were getting with Jorgimho. He's a stopgap and nothing more.
Viera, time will tell, but at the moment isn't pulling up any trees.
Biggest issue with jorginho is that you can't have him. Partnering Xhaka in the MF.
It's a suicidal MF against good opposition
His winner at Villa Park will surely justify his purchase for you guys. Plus he's been there and done it. A voice like that in the dressing room is something you're gonna need when your bums start squeaking.
(PS - I know technically it was an own goal but come on)
Agree with Vieira, but not for Jorginho. We knew straight away that Jorginho was going to be backup player. He isn't at Partey's level ofc, but he is way better than Elneny. Elneny would never pass like that to Martinelli for the goal yesterday.
Viera is 22 and just moved to a new country , its his first ever transfer. I think he deserves time to settle. Very harsh to write him off already
Vieira was bought for the long term, he hasn't had a sustained run in the team to get into any momentum, and when he does play it hasn't always been in the same role so it has been difficult for him. Wouldn't be the first youngster brought in from abroad who has not had a massive impact in the first season. He wasn't a starter for Porto, only started about 25 senior games, so you have to have some faith that whoever was behind the move has seen something in him that will develop over time.
The issue with Jorginho is he is a very different style to Partey, so when he comes in to rest Partey it changes the whole midfield. Obviously he was not first choice, although Arteta has loved him for a long time.
Far too early to judge Vieira. He has only started 2 league games, he scored in 1 of them. He's also had a fair few assists in the league when he's come on. He has been okay in the Europa league games, yesterday wasn't his best game but I still think he is a player that could turn out to be decent.
What you'll soon realise re: Jorgino is just how poor a passer he is.
His through balls are typically overhit, bouncy and have the wrong pace on them.
What he is good at is being available and in space and keeping the ball ticking over. For this reason he will have a high pass %.
He's actually better off the ball than people give him credit, reads the game well.
Jorgi is trash. Vieira was awful last night but it’s far too early to write him off.
People writing off Vieira are fooking insane.
Can't write off Viera yet. He has shown some bright moment in games, but has also struggled in several games. Need to give him more time and certainly another season.
Jorginho, we knew he had limitations, he's clearly not on Partey's level but he still has a critical squad role to play for us. We'll need everyone we have.
Jorginho is miles ahead of Elneny and hes already proved his worth.
1 bad game where the whole team was utter garbage and you want him out.
As for Viera 1st season in the PL i'll judge him fully next season. Hes shown glimpses but has also been poor so its been a 50/50 season so far.
