I'll second that Light.

Just couldn't warm to our previous incumbent but already pleased with Javi Gracia.

Think we’ll stay up fairly easily in the end.

I’d still get a new manager in the summer

I'll third it.

LIW, why do you think that?

For example, I always thought Marsch's substitutions were poor. Yesterday, our subs won the game. Rasmus and Rodrigo scored and Struijk and Summerville helped to keep it tighter on Traore. Gracia has done pretty well so far in this permacrisis situation, no?

He’s managed twelve clubs, 10 he’s lasted a year, other two were two years.

Personally think, us staying up, isnt that big an achievement.

Lets not waste another season by keeping him, then sacking him come christmas.

Get the one we really want

How long was Bielsa at the clubs he managed before arriving at Leeds?

Whats Bielsa to do with Garcia getting job long term 🤷🏻‍♂️

Bielsa, ended up perfect fit and the best manager we could have got.

Dont sell ourselves short, we stay up, there be queing round the corner to manage us, and better than garcia

I like him. Liked him at Watford

But there is quality and potential in the squad

Do we want another season where we are in amongst a relegation zone?

We're a club who've had many tough times but the pressure and potential associated with us is higher than some of the other clubs in the relegation zone

We need to aim high and for the right manager. I'm not saying Tuchel or someone whose probably off to a CL side, but why not aim high.

What it's got to to with Bielsa is that Gracia as you correctly noted was not at his previous clubs for long. Bielsa was not at his previous clubs for very long either.

If your not going to appoint a manager because of a quick exit from previous clubs then on that basis Bielsa would not have got the Leeds job.

I, like Wakey, get the impression this was never meant to be a long term appointment. It's a McCarthy/Warnock/Big Sam type one to try to turn the fortunes around whilst the board identifies a way forward. Nobody feels he has it in him to develop the team in years to come. A decent coach, capable of making the changes necessary in the short term but nothing more than that.
He will not have his contract renewed beyond the summer of that I am sure.
Wonder how many people, like myself and Wakey, are so uninspired by the appointment they cannot be bothered to learn the gaffer's name.

Yep, agree with much of the above. Despite really trying hard, I just couldn’t get past the Jesse BS. Also, harsh as it is, we should at least try for a more experienced coach in the summer. Somebody who’s won something recently would be good. Javi will always have respect from me though, especially if he keeps us up!😄

posted on 19/3/23

If we continue along similar lines until the end of the season, in which case we'll stop up comfortably, I think it would be harsh not to give Gracia at least next season.

Very impressed up to now.

Biesla was short term appointment, only signed one year deals. Right thing, right time.

Just think we can do better

He's done well so far albeit been quite lucky. Could have easily lost to Brighton and Wolves as both battered us, plus Firpo's tame shot shouldn't have gone in against Southampton. I like him, but I agree with LIW, we should get who we really want in the summer. I'm not sure with our current management, Orta and playing staff, that we'll do any better next season. I'm not fully sold on Gracia but he'd be the cheap/easy option to keep him on if we stay up.

As long as we can get someone better (Iraola?) I think we have to go for it, even though it's a bit harsh if he keeps us up. If not, keep him and see how it pans out.

I'm hoping it's all done quietly behind the scenes before the season ends.

As much as I like what Gracia is doing,
I have to agree with this. It would be a bold
move but one I think is correct.

Iraola and Slot were the top choices, so if the club
feel strongly about them, why not go back in and see
if you can get them. Both still doing well.

Slot doing really well at Feyenoord.

but why would they want to come to us? If they have achieved a champions league place, then they will probably want to stay and test themselves in that competition.

posted on 19/3/23

Right now I'm happy with gracia. Leaps and bounds better than the useless marsch.
But that's definitely not a reason to sign him long term. See who's available but like maid said will slot want to come to us?
Do a mid table pl side trump a champions league partisapant.

Miles bigger wages, and coaching in the biggest league in the world, by a mile.

Think people really are underestimating the pull, of the premier league.

Remember last season, when Marsh kept us up? We gave him the job and we all know what happened. As much as we like a coach, if someone better comes along, we have to take him.
Additionally, if we are in the Premier League, we may well be getting significant funds for rebuilding the stadium and the squad. The coach will need to be a proven leader with the skills to take us through that transition.
It will be a risk, whatever we do. If, by the end of the season, we are in the top 10, then we may have to think harder about Gracia, but for now, he is not the man for the job.

I think it'll be the choice of the whoever they are ownwers to decide where we go next season, if they're happy with what happens then there's no reason why they shouldn't ask Gracia to stay on!..

But, it might be a case as some have already said, he might only be here to try and keep us up, that could be as much his choice as it is the clubs, so, we'll like alway's have to wait and see how things pan out!..

If he keeps us up, which I think he will, he should be allowed talks and see where it goes from there!..

Double the percentage of possession, double the shots, double on target, more corners and 20% better passing accuracy. Given Wober and Meslier made a few point blank blocks, yeah, we could have easily lost that. We were clinical for a change, like Villa and Fulham were against us this year.
