Can't believe your guys sacked Jesse Marsch after he saved you from relegation last season. How ungrateful - especially after he turned around the mess Marcelo Bielsa had made.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Marcelo Bielsa didnt leave a mess behind.
He took the club from a bottom end championship team to the Premier league playing the greatest of football one could ever dream of. Sure we were struggling when he left but there was a high percentage of fans who would have let him carry on because after 3.5 years of going in the right direction why would you risk losing that after spending 16 years searching for it in the first place? Personally I would have backed Bielsa in the same way from a neutral looking in perhaps Leicester should fans should be backing Rodgers? He has given you 3.5 years of very good times with Europe twice and a first Fa Cup win. Surely he deserves this season and clearly the owners feel the same way.
As for Marsch, he should have been sacked the day we beat Brentford and stayed up but thats another story

I had great respect for MB and I, for one, felt sad when he left. Some will disagree, I’m sure.
I seldom comment on the Brendan Rodgers situation but it is clear we (City) are going downhill fast and it will be an ongoing struggle to salvage something from the remains of this season and prevent the club from being relegated. I fear that may well be the case, but a lot depends upon the fortunes of those situated around us in the table. Some are regularly losing, giving us faint hope that we can survive.
It won’t be easy coming back if we go down. Key players will be gone.
Having read all of this, can I just say that I agree with Foxello?

In case it wasn't clear - I was being sarcastic. Moral of the story - don't lecture other fans about what they should or shouldn't think about their own club, when you have only passing knowledge of the situation.
If you think Brendan Rodgers deserves a statue, cool - it can go next to the one of Jesse Marsch.

There will always be fans like yourself who have less patience and appreciation of the past. We sacked Howard Wilkinson a couple of years after winning the league which was absurd. Leicester did it even quicker with Ranieri.
For the record Leicester I think will be ok this season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s a nice swerve - almost politician like Mersey, but like Paxman I’m gonna try again!
Do you agree that Top is not up to the job as chairman because that’s exactly what Foxello says. This is where I think you differ from him and me and it’s a pretty big difference
Come on Mersey - answer the question. The question wasn’t “is Top harming the club by not removing Rodgers?”, that’s easy. The question is “do you agree with Foxello that Top is not up to the job as chairman?”
You say your absolutely aligned - prove it
I’m absolutely aligned with Foxello in that I think mistakes have been made by the management team in backing Rodgers “invest for Europe” strategy and getting it wrong.
I’m fully aligned with Foxello in that Top not sacking Rodgers after his ultimate egotistical player, club and fan skating rants have alienated him from the fans and demotivated the team to near relegation.
I’m fully aligned with Foxello in that I don’t want us to give up on Top yet and still have hope that he can turn it around, even if I fear he can’t (which is what I think Foxello said).
Im fully aligned with myself that I want Top to have more time, and don’t think we’re as badly run as you think. We just need to recover from the mess of the last year and hopefully we can do that in the Prem.
If you want me to stop being a politician, I don’t know if Top is up to the job yet to be honest. I still hope he is but I think he’s showing weakness by not sacking Rodgers. However, he could also be showing strength in leadership by actually backing himself if he feels that Rodgers and the players have got this. So I honestly don’t know the answer to your question.
What I do know is that more so than you I want him to stay, get it right and prove he is up to the job. I hope he can.
Ps. Sorry for the delay. Been a busy weekend away and a rather large hangover on Saturday where looking at my phone hurt my soul 😂
Hey no worries! I would say based on your response above that there is a dividing line between you and me and Foxello as follows;
- Regardless of whether you want Top to stay and turn it around or not (because that’s a different question) - both me and Foxello have come to the conclusion that Top is not up to the job as chairman. That’s what Foxello said
Based on your response above - you don’t know. That’s fine - for you the jury is out on whether Top can turn this around whereas for me and Foxello - we’ve both come to the reluctant conclusion that he can’t
That’s where the difference is - and it’s a pretty big difference. It’s one of acceptance basically and for me I don’t need any more proof or time to judge whether Top is capable of getting this club back on track. I just know he isn’t
I’ll repeat Foxellos statement again to be clear
“ and my head is telling me that Top is not up to the job and it's hurting the club.”
For you the jury is still out on whether Top is up to the job as chairman. Perfectly valid opinion - but you see the difference….

😂😂😂 Foxello. Now that’s a discussion which might cause some comment; especially if it’s done in comparison with some previous stewards of the hot seat.
I remember with great fondness Matthew Muirhead Gillies, Jimmy Bloomfield, Jock Wallace, Martin O’Neill, Nigel Pearson and even (wait for it) Mad Dog Martin Allen!
Gordon Milne was half decent and Paulo Sousa showed promise.
And then of course there’s Don Claudio Ranieri. Pretty sure he benefited hugely from the foundations laid by Pearson. When he tried to change it, it all went downhill.
Bet that has the potential to create some interesting comments!
Oh, and Brendan Rodgers started off ok!

Having read all of this, can I just say that I agree with Foxello?

Things I bet you thought you'd never type during the great Pearson war circa 2012-15

“and my head is telling me that Top is not up to the job and it's hurting the club.”
So you agree with this statement from Foxello then? Yes or no

Hey no worries! I would say based on your response above that there is a dividing line between you and me and Foxello as follows;

Now that everyone is apparently fully aligned with me, would now be a good time for me to post my "Sven Goran Eriksson was good for us, actually" article?

Glad we’re all aligned in being closely align but also not aligned 🙃.
SGE though, I’ve almost blanked him from my mind that he was ever at our club. Lols.
