Oh, doubtless we should be. And if not good enough, certainly at least lucky enough. But I’d still rather he were playing.

I admire your positivity. I know what it was like for us to get a keeper.

And as for a striker, I’ve genuinely no idea who we would have targeted and for how much were it not for Postecoglou and his knowledge of other markets.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Dont think I’d call it positivity The keeper it really can’t be any worse. Been moaning about McGregor for two years bar Europe last season. His kicking is awful, he rarely comes off his line and when he does your papping your pants he’s going to feck up, and his shot stopping isn’t near what it was. Will be free agents in summer that would be an improvement, so would really rather a couple gambles there on free transfers to replace him and McLaughlin.

Striker is going to be difficult to get right regardless what the budget is. Wouldn’t be any more confident in Wilson with a 6m signing than a 2m signing. Cantwell and Raskin have both started well though so bodes well as a start for turning over squad next season.

"See folk that don’t think Tilman is worth signing, need your head checked."

He hasn't turned up in the big games
Talking about the Union and PSV game.....capitalised on two howlers in both games, keeper flapping at a cross, and defender caught napping

The guy that really turned up in those games was Rom Lawrence, and when he's fit, for me, he gets a game in midfield ahead of Tillman every day of the week.....and up top, I'd rather we played a striker and two wingers, not Tillman in any of those positions

We need better players in other positions....Tillman is not the answer, is not worth £5m, and we wouldn't miss him if he wasn't in the squad of we have Lawrence, Cantwell and possibly another, cheaper player to play the attacking midfield positions

He's rank rotten out wide and much better central

In the old firm games, he wants way too much time on the ball, after 3 games, you'd think he'd learn

My take on Tillman FWIW

I reckon Celtic should offer Bayern £7M for him. He'd fit our team brilliantly.

Great potential in that boy

posted on 7/4/23

So you’re judging both Lawrence and Tilman on a few games only No idea why would you talk about Tilman out wide. But Beale doesn’t play with typical wingers anyway so a nothing point.

Putting Tillman’s good play in the qualifiers down to fortune is pure idiocy. Tilman was man of the match against USG, and brilliant in both PSV games.

But aye good shout, let’s go with Lawrence over Tilman next season. He’s not going to be fit till summer at the earliest, seems a safe bet to rely on him. Sure he won’t need a pre season, and sure we won’t miss Tilman,
goalscoring midfielders are easy for us to come by.
… And not like he’s been our best player at the age of twenty this season.

I can understand the view that we might have a small budget and so need to be tight and prioritise other positions, but if you think he’s not worth 5m, then football is not for you.

Idiocy to single him out. Rangers collectively were stunningly, monumentally, impossibly lucky in the whole campaign and no Scottish team will ever spawn so hard in Europe again.

You really come across as a bit of a self righteous c*nt in this post mate...people can disagree with you and not be called stupid

Lawrence was excellent in the matches he played at the start of the season, which was not just a couple of games....he played in 9 games, and either scored or assisted 5 goals in those 9 games...it took Tillman 12 games to get to that tally

Lawrence hasn't been tested against Celtic or in the Champions League proper

Tillman has been tested in both....and has done absolutely fck all in both

Spending £5m on a player that is basic SPFL quality...ain't good business

At this point I’m questioning if you’ve actually watched us this season, because if you think Tilman is only basic SPFL quality you are deluded.

Never mind the fact he’s only twenty.

Only games he's performed in are UCL qualifiers (moderately), and against SPFL also rans

Done fck all against opposition better than that

Can argue athat all you want...that's the truth

I'll change my tune if he turns up tomorrow, and I really hope he does

If he doesn't.....not worth £5m, not a fcking chance

As I said he was man of the match against USG, then was great in both legs against PSV. To say he only played moderately well in those games is simply wrong.
Can go look at any match reports or highlights I’m sure to see that.

If anyone thinks Tilman is only basic SPFL quality you deserve to be insulted.

Can think he’s not good enough against Celtic or that we have other priorities and that’d be clearly understandable, but if you’re going to make daft statements then folk will call you daft.

Not seen enough of Tillman to have an opinion though what I would say is just signing for Rangers or Celtic adds value whether merited or not so he may still be good business if the goal is to sprinkle some glitter and move on to turn a quick buck.

We will see how he does today.

We got lucky against PSV….notice how you keep referring to these games and completely neglect the 3 old firms and UCL group games that he has been rank rotten in….oh wait, he’s only 20, so that means we disregard when he’s pi$h and only focus in when he’s good to justify a £5m outlay

I loved Tillman at the start of the season
You clearly feel he has improved as it has went on…..I think he’s been shown up for what he is, and what level he’s capable of playing at
