Title over 4 points ahead with 7 games to go
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you surprised? From the most negative, flip floppy fan base in the land?
It'll be back to Arteta out in 2 weeks. After they hounded out their greatest ever employee, nobody is safe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Balance is key.
Wenger was past it for years before he finally left. If the top brass had the balls to make the right decisions for the club, he would have not been hounded out by the fans.
Arteta is still learning unfortunately. The fact that he did not stress the importance of not exciting the afield crowd (or maybe he did) and then took too long to make necessary changes to stem the tide, is testament to him still learning. And today...Saka was having a bad bad game (by his standards) and he somehow chose to hook Martinelli and Jesus. Criminal. Partey is the glue that holds the midfield together..why not bring Jorginho on for Xhaka? Odegaard on an empty tank is miles better than Vieira this season. Again..bad decisions.
But fantastic season this one. Man City are a freak team due to financial doping, so running them this close is an achievement. Hopefully we bring in a few better players, shift out some of the poorer ones and go again next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely never an excuse. It just highlights the sort of fan base you have. If it was the "top brass" then aim it at them, not the greatest employee in the club's history. Dreadful, embarassing treatment.
You're assuming you continue next season as you had this season but I don't think you do. Think you've over achieved this year's and you're more likely to be battling for 4th next year than another title. Bottling the title at this stage would be a complete disaster. The opportunity may not come again for a long time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry. Disagree about Wenger. I saw him since 2000 and loved and still love and appreciate all he did. But the last 5 years of his tenure were horrific. And if you are not an Arsebal fan who watches us week in week out season after season, I don't believe you have a say in how the crowd reacts to the utter tripe and lack of effort we saw too often. No Arsenal fan I know thinks we have a divine right to win anything...but we sure as heck want to see players leave 100% on the field and a manager who is not so stubborn and outdated that football is passing him by
This same crowd who hounded Wenger out are cheering on this team since last season as we see a team that tries regardless of the result.

Chelsea and man utd also financially dope, why are they mid-table then? You have spent more than Liverpool have in the same period they have won a league title and achieved 90 plus points.
You making excuses for your team unnecessarily so. You are 4 points clear with 7 games to go. Back your team and quit the lame excuses.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And who was the manager for either team? Klopp came in 2015 I think and we had a washed up Wenger who mind you still won FA cups but could not sustain decent league form for a club like Arsenal. Then we had Emery. Liverpool have spent less than us yes, but they also spent wisely for the most part. They also were able to sell players for a lot more than we ever have and reinvest somewhat into the team.
Chelsea are definitely financially doped..and it is hysterical to see how bad they have been this season. A team that spends 600m in in season should be competing for the title. So them being poor has little to do with spending and more to do with the crazy hierarchy they seem to have. United...not sure that top 4 is mid table. And would not call them financially doped - they are just a massive club with massive revenue. And intact, they have not been spending as crazy as they could be if I am hearing their fans right.
I am not making excuses for us..but let's be realistic...Man City could put out 2 teams in the league and you'd expect them both to finish in the top 4 with one winning the league. No one else has close to 22 first team players. And unfortunately for us, our drop off from our first 13 or 14 players or so is pretty stark. Part of that is the personel..part of it is the coaching of the fringe players.
