I cant help but keep thinking back to Aug 13, 2-0 up at Southampton, 20 minutes to go, Marsch has gone on about managing in the heat...Southampton make 3 subs, score instantly, then equalise. THEN we make our subs.

That has come back to haunt us.

I also think that foul at Spurs by Kane on Meslier was a turning point.

I suppose the Everton result realisticly despite me trying to say otherwise makes them safe and it's probably going to be Saints plus 2 from Leicester Forest and us depending on what happens at the City Ground which in fitting with a day of shock results could be anything.

Let's be honest we deserve to be in the bottom 3 after 35 games and the injury to Adams has virtually condemned us because the squad is so appallingly short of cover and we can't expect to escape really... be great if Big Sam can inspire us to 2 wins because it's looking like that's what it will take if Forest win tonight.

Every time I flick back on, a saints player gives an 8 yard pass straight to a Forest player and they go on the attack.

One word to explain why we're going down and Everton and Forest are staying up?
Desire.
They just want it more than we do.
And much as we can enjoy the chummy confidence of SA and his pals, we got mullered at City and for 85 minutes, played the game like we were beaten.
We can point to problems, lack of balance, injuries and changes of manager, but the bottom line is that we never look like we want it more than the other team.
Watching McNeil and Pickford today, what would we give for one ounce of their commitment to fighting a lost cause? I remember Bamford scoring a goal like McNeil's second, but it's such a distant memory, you look at him now, and you see a player that doesn't believe in himself, a team that doesn't believe in him.
How the hell are we going to win another game?

You'd need to rest your whole squad to give us any chance of winning

It's not worth putting ourselves through the torture tbh and I think we have to resign ourselves to relegation and when we are trying to get promoted next season it's probably slightly easier with Leicester and Southampton as our fellow relegatees.....So depressing!

Im semi resigned to going down. All of the signings in my head are for the championship.
